I can only wish my muscles and nipples were as defined as Batman's through that thick suit. Batman.

I'm only 15 and don't have that great of an understanding, regarding musical theory. I figure I have a while before I really need to delve into studying music. I'm not sure if I would want to be the next John Williams or not... But I most certainly DO want to become either our next middle school choir/band director or our next highschool band or choir director. We have such an amazing music history and reputation at our school, that I would love to be put up to the challenge of continuing it.

Leaky Cauldron has several different new HP game covers. Idk if Amazon has the same or not.

PoA, is one of my favorites simply because, like Hook, many songs of the score are theme-based... and have themes in them. That makes it enjoyable. anyway... (sorry for always interjecing my views like this... they usually dont' have much place in the thread.)
-
I don't. Soooo much more fun to listen to, as a whole soundtrack. And I am also surprised that Jurassic Park came before Hook.
-
Wow. That's really cool.

Or one who was constantly high. It is a great cue.

*whisper to Delorean* Before.. cause it's fun to piece the soundtrack together in the movie... as you're watching it.

JNH would also have been a gr8 choice for GoF.

I love peter pan.

Why not use a motif over again in another movie? Because that's like giving your current best friend a really good piece of chocolate and then coming back the next day and stealing it and giving it to your new best friend.

The Minority Report Assimilation of War of the Worlds thread

I like constructive conversation... Which has been going on in this thread. This is much better than all the personal attacks and unnecessary sarcastic comments that are said so often here. I like it. -
Will John Williams be remembered mainstream in 2100?

And, Joe, WW3 is, in a way, being fought right now. And I am sure it will just continue to grow and reek havoc. Because, apparently, that's what us Americans want. Unfortunately. Anyway. -
Williams new style action music is something I hate. But I listen to it because it has complexity. It's not like he closes his eyes and jots down notes without looking. Everything is complex and I am sure fits the movie well.

I'm going to give my opinion on this score.... In a sentence or two............ And I know it's wrong to judge it already, so.. sorry. I ... don't like what I hear. I'm horrible, I know... But I REALLY wanted this to be a COOL score... not background, moody music with some crazy action music. I am sure this will all be great with the movie, but... idk. I don't hear much as far as themes go. I really hope there's some good stuff on the full album though, and I am sure there will be. (and, of course, I can't say too much bad stuff about these dinky little clips because it IS going to be amazing music most could only hope of composing, me included.)

I think he will be remembered, simply because of his big hits, of course. And as a Boston Pops conductor (that's how most people I talk to remember him, oddly). I know, that if I have kids (I plan to), that they will know of him. -

1. Hook 2. E.T. 3. Jurassic Park 4. Terminal 5. Amistad 6. Empire of the Sun 7. 1941 8. Schindler's List 9. Jaws 10. Close Encouters 11. (All Indiana Jones) 12. Catch Me if You Can 13. Sugarland Express 14.Lost World 15. Saving Private Ryan 16. A.I. 17. Minority Report I very rarely remember anything but themes from a specific score... Including theme-filled action music (Hook) and just really good pieces of music period; themes or not... Therefore, I based mine on how much I remembered any one part of the score (or more the parts I remember absolutely loving and listening to over and over). Hook, I could immediately remember (and love). Catch Me If You Can wasn't all that catchy for me. And I just don't like Minority Report... It is, of course, an amazing piece of art I, and most, could only dream of having the ability to compose. Thar be my list. -
These MIDI's cement in my mind how much more I like Chamber of Secrets. Really cool.

Honestly.. I think it's just well.. not true. I think it's funny that the three main stars were the worst affected. Idk.

I would beat the track name maker up.... and bash their ears with leimotif

It looks......... VERY bland. The tents are boring... and white. The face-makeup is almost absent. Argh. I really, really hope this will be a good movie.. And I am SURE it will be! But I wanted this to be the vibrant, fun, "outgoing" movie. I always imagined it being so colorful, I guess. So far the tent scene looks dull. I am sure it'll all be good though . James - mixing optomism with pessimism so he doesn't get verbaly abused by people who might think I am judging the movie before I see it.

Is your appreciation of the RotS score growing?
jamesie replied to King Mark's topic in General Discussion
This is the first John Williams score that, for me, has not gotten better. I am not sure why. However, I DO like it. And it is more thematically based (mainly the action pieces) than the other prequels. So I like it, but I don't like it as much MORE as I usually do a JW score after the 10th listen or so. -
A battle of the orchestras is in the begininning stages.
