  1. Yes, but you are a genius.
  2. FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC is horror, as are some of the other titles on your list, but yes, I agree, very nice score that has very little horror about it. Sounds like a drama score.
  3. Norway has a bunch of these too, and I believe there are several articles around translating the Norwegian titles back into English. Like JAWS is "Haisommer", which translates as "Shark Summer". It's funny.
  4. I agree, THE VILLAGE outshines STEPMOM as far as autumnal scores go, but only by a tiny margin.
  5. Very glad to hear that it's been made available again, for those who didn't get it the first time around (or the second or third). As I said earlier in the thread, I was 99% certain that this would pop up again, and I'm still confident it will be available in the foreseeable future, perhaps with some intervals. Kudos to those who managed to sell it on the secondary market for hundreds of dollars in the interim, but that's not my thing, despite poverty. My copy is not for sale, and never will be.
  6. "Piece of crap" is taking it too far. I liked many aspects of DARK FATE. But it wasn't the film I expected, given the return of Hamilton (and Cameron's supposed stamp of approval).
  7. Much better. Lurie's isn't too bad, but can't compare. Also, I'm kinda boycotting Lurie these days, due to issues that are forbidden to talk about here.
  8. It's just JS being cheeky. I know he likes that score, but I have no idea what he means. It doesn't really sound Young-ian.
  9. SWEET NOVEMBER and AN UNFINISHED LIFE. Also, on Cinema Septet, AMERICAN HARVEST, LAST FLIGHT OUT and SPARKLE ROAD.
  10. I mean, he's one of the best around for horror, but my favourites of his lie elsewhere.
  11. Agreed. My fav of his too. Program out the marches and upbeat stuff, though.
  12. I love this film! Was never able to get into the soundtrack, but thanks for the reminder. Might give it another go.
  13. Cool photo. I recognize Santaolalla, Dudamel and Williams. But who's the guy on the right?
  14. Although I'm not as big a fan of his WALL-E score as everyone else (although I adore the film), and thought PASSENGERS only had moments of brilliance, I'm still excited to hear more sci fi Newman.
  15. More for THE NAKED GUN movies. And TOWERING INFERNO.
  16. Well, to each their own. These days, I tend to prefer these types of scores. I don't need umpteen number of themes, oodles of action music and cymbal crashes and whatnot. Rather, these impressionistic, calm, beautifully atmospheric scores do it for me. It easily sustains its 58 minutes (56 1/2 if you take away the song), but I wouldn't want it any longer either. It's perfectly curated the way it is.
  17. Agreed. Very autumny. Even if HowardL over on FSM somehow gets winter out of it. Either way, I adore this score. And the existing presentation is perfect as-is.
  18. I can't comment on the packaging, as I never got it physically. But I got a digital version. Despite the film being such a huge nostalgic favourite of mine, and the score excellent, I found the presentation (predictably) too long, repetitive and aimless on occasion. However, I've whittled it down to a great 36-minute playlist that also includes the three best songs at the end. Now it works like gangbusters. Obviously, if you're a fan of the film/score, and since the OST was a "songtrack" without any score cues at all, the LLL is the way to go in any case. Same goes for the sequels.
  19. Depends on what you have in mind, but in the right hands, style IS substance.
  20. I'm not an expert on sound engineers' particular sounds and quirks, so wouldn't immediately be able to separate between a Shawn Murphy and Dennis Sands and Dan Wallin. I know that many others do. That being said, Wallin has been one of those names I've seen on soundtrack releases for what feels like forever. Certainly a legend in the field, and 97 is incredibly good innings! RIP.
  21. Working with Madonna on this was not an easy task for Korzeniowski (or so he said), but it resulted in one of his finest scores. Gorgeous post-minimalist romanticism back when it was hot and fresh. This is a 17-track promo, so slightly different from the commercial release.
