  1. I saw this coming. Now every movie will look different to the other ones due to director changes and ALSO will sound diferent cause the use of a different composer each time. After last year outcome, Marianelli was an obvious option (English sound from P&P + Fairytale from TGB, an interesting mix for HP). Will it be true?
  2. Escape, Chase, Saying Goodbye ET 2002 SE The Asteroid Field ESB 1997 SE Hedwig's Theme HP and PS Schilndler's List Theme Journey to the Island JP Edited to reflect the order preference
  3. Very interesting list. They dared to consider some recent screenplays to be as good as the classic ones, which never happens in other fields and lists.
  4. I don't think this is funny Joe, even if it's April fools
  5. Death Star motif is there (on The Battle of Endor III, when the Imperial Cruiser hits the DS) Edited (too late )
  6. Except for not mentioning that Potter's father can change into a stag, therefore making a mockery of the stag appearing over the lake at the end. Oh, and "Padfoot, Mooney" etc. It's still the best movie of the 4 though. Wonderful pacing! Somehow my father imagined that the four marauders were James, Lupin, Sirius and Peter.
  7. Play.com has always served me well. Good price, no shipping charge, and moderately fast (taking into account you don't pay the shipping, it's extremely fast).
  8. How can you remember certain cues form certain episodes? Have you seen them more than once? I certainly can remember thinking that the music was good, but my memory prevents me from remembering the cues that well!
  9. Has it been confirmed that this movie will be the end of the series?
  10. Sounds good. This varese releases are only available thru their website?
  11. I finally bought it. I must say it's enjoyable, the performances are good in most cases, and changes are not worse but different in general. However in certain sections you realise again how good LSO is. The sound quality is good and it's coherent among the different scores, which is always a good thing. May not be the best release ever, but after this I'll consider other Silva releases.
  12. I found this on a local store for 8 euros, but don't know if it's worth. What do you think?
  13. The Winners are here in bold. Thanks you to the few voters
  14. For me it was the best chapter of the season, and what you said is exactly why. Lost grabbed me last year because it answered questions with new ones, becaus ethe mistery was getting bigger and bigger, everything seemed to be connected but it was hard to imagine how. Maternity Leave reminded me of that, and I loved it.
  15. Wow, I can't believe anyone is bitching about the camera movements in PoA. Cuaron did a really good job with it. I didn't know how it would result, since he was not a director used to CGI, but in terms of use, he did a magnificent job. You don't get spectacular shots for nothing, but to follow the characters, to play with the camera itself (the mirror and the Bogart) or even in some kind of metaphor (we go through and forth the clock as we go back and forth in time!). He made a really imaginative job in the use of CGI camera movement. On the other hand we have Colombus on CoS, that's using CGI shots just for the sake of it. I have to say that, without having seen Air Force 1, the worst CGI moment for me is the Scorpion Thing from Mummy Returns
  16. EDIT: THE WINNERS Well, this is over. I say winners cause that's what I expected them to be. But after only 8 people (myself included) voted, I think this was not more than a rehearsal of what I expect it comes up better next year. I even think some people didn't understand how it worked, since some of those who proposed nomineed never voted for their winners. I might not have been clear enough. If that was the case, I'm sorry. So, thank you to the jury, composed by: robthehand, BigMacGyver, Justin, Ray Barsnbury, Lotman, Greg1138, fururemartymcfly and myself The winners are in bold --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So, after some of you guys proposed you candidates, here's the final nominees list. ii'd like to thank all those who took the trouble to write down their proposals for nominees. 17. I didn't like Del Toro at all in Traffic. I think for those who don't speak Spanish it might look like a good performance, but for those who speak Spanish it sounded more like a drunken mexican than anything.
  18. Sorry Joe but you're not right here. The fact with digital is that you can make exact copies without losing quality. The hard disk or the tape in which it is stored might not last forever, but the possibility of replicating it without loss enables the information to last forever. Even if there is a certain degradation it is possible to go back to the original data, something you can't even dream of with analog information. Full stop. deimos, who thinks after five years surounded by signals and information systems knows what's he's taking about.
  19. Wow, I didn't know Kahn still cuts on linear. He must be the only one by now.
  20. In two days I'll post the final nominees. You can choose from those.
  21. There's nothing in or out here. These are the proposals of the nominees, so if you think it should be there, just propose it. May I propose A History of Violence? Yes, of course. I was hoping you might propose some more categories/candidates Come on guys, not many days left...
