It's going to look, and sound, spectacular!
How do you know?

Didn't we previously hear that it would be out this past March?
Yeah, I won't believe it until I see it.
And I hope he hasn't tealed and degrained the film, like Terminator 2 UHD!

Complete mono score (cds 2 & 3) following with the sheet music.
Ok, I admit I didn't listen to the last 8-9 tracks because I was somewhat bored or tired..
This is a very demanding score, and I think there are too many notes () and too many dissonances.
If we compare it to let's say Ben-Hur, I vastly prefer the latter which is more precise and clearer in its melodies/harmonies.

Percussion loops.
I cannot stand them.
It reminds me of songs, which have a specific drum loop.
The outcome seems to me very poor, and show the inability of a composer to keep the interest of the listener with other means, like constantly changing music..

Mine has shipped on September 20th, but I don't see any progress in the tracking info.
It's been stuck on 9/20.

Yes, yes, "La Porte de Nesle" is a BATMAN ripoff due to temp track love,
I think Elfman sued in which he won?

It looks and sounds really good too on the 4K disc
I wanted to buy it too, but it leans a bit on the yellow side.

Well, i don't know if you saw his next post but unfortunately he said it has nothing to do with John Williams. 😞

It’s Hook
If we combine it with Robin Williams's line:
"To live would be an awfully big adventure."
edit: never mind. MM didn't mention Big in his post. Hehe

With a quote like that anything but Star Wars or Indiana Jones will be somewhat disappointing
With a quote like that, anything non-Williams will be disappointing to me.

Now, does he literally mean tomorrow? Or tomorrow in a metaphorical sense?
I'm wondering the same now that you said it.
Maybe tomorrow means on Black Friday?

Are we expecting an announcement from any label tomorrow?

This thread was created almost two decades ago, and the question it poses is still as relevant now as it was then, maybe even more so: does anybody still enjoy SW?
I certainly don't.
From the Star Wars universe, I have seen only the 9 films.
I still enjoy the truly original trilogy (I mean not the altered one), and I have stayed away from anything else (either TV series, or re-watching the prequels and sequels).
I don't need anything else than the original trilogy. That is enough for me.

I'll often record faster passages at half- or quarter-tempo and then speed them up.
2 years later and I have to do a couple of midi mock ups, that's why I bump this thread again.
How exactly do you do that?
I have Cubase 12. Do you know where I should look at the manual?

Not sure if I should share this info given Chris’ reasoning in his earlier post, but he just revealed some very exciting 2024 releases!

One of the best Nordic scores of all time, and a personal favourite.
I have seen the film once, a couple of years ago, but I don't remember the score at all...

Is there a comprehensive list somewhere with middle-eastern musical scales?
I find many pages in the internet, eg. this:
https://www.freejazzlessons.com/middle-eastern-scales/
But I'd like to find a list with 10 or more musical scales, if there is one..

The Gospel of John? That's a really good one and considerably less cliché take on east meeting west.

What film is that? I find 3 films titled like that at imdb.
I guess you mean the 2003 film with score by Jeff Dana?

I had to turn it off in the middle (I think).
I usually don't do that, but organ music for 1 voice is not my thing really..
