Oh, you're so kind, thank you very much for your offer but I don't want to put you in trouble.
    I'll make up something.

Usually it means, a little something extra, to give a section a boost.

@filmmusic I do have a midi drumset, and some percussion VST's, if you are interested, I could try out some rhythms, and you could see if anything inspires you.

Just the first examples that came to mind:

Wind and the Lion has a couple percussion source cues (The Horsemen, and Arabian theme)

The Ten Commandments has a few drum source cues, including a roll similar to what you mentioned.

    To be continued....

Well, not a motif, but a complete theme, but I post it since many posted themes (there is a difference).
The one I mentioned in the other thread, in Return of the Jedi.

80s Zimmer is the best. I liked the cinematography, the chemistry between Douglas and the Japanese cop, Kate Capshaw, and not much else. But it’s still better than 99% of action films made nowadays.

If I were you, I'd check out an Ostinato Brass library. The ones from Sonokinetic sound decent. Audio Imperia brass is great, I'm pretty sure they have an ostinato brass library separate from Jaeger or Nucleus but when I use Nucleus I'm able to just use the staccatisimo patches to create the exact sound I want. Hasn't faltered for me thus far.

The Audio Imperia library I'm thinking of is Fluid Brass. I haven't actually tried either of these suggestions myself, just have them bookmarked for when I have enough spending money for them--but these are their own thing and you don't have to buy a whole new sample library just to get that sound you want.

    Hello again.
I want to write a brass fanfare.
Does anyone know what are the best brass that perform repeating 16ths or triplets right?
Like the 16ths in this score?
Do you use staccatissimo for just those notes or perhaps there is a specific sample in a library that handles them well?

My guess is the premier release of the score by a specialty label.

It's a 1966 score, so I don't expect something really good in terms of quality. The source will probably be the movie's stems (in mono), as to my knowledge, there is no album.

Matthew Perry. Ouch. He's like seven months younger than me and we were born in the same part of Massachusetts. For me that makes it kind of weird.

I checked all my Arrows UHDs. They were stickers on top of the outer cellophane.
And you can see in that picture of the Conans, that the box is without the HDR logo.

Stop whatever you are doing and go immediately to listen to Mahler's 2nd symphony!!

(seriously, it's one of the greatest symphonies ever written by anyone - especially due to the last three movements)

The “orthodox” in “Orthodox Judaism” doesn’t refer to Orthodox Christianity.

I assumed they were supposed to be roughly the same age (though, admittedly, the age difference probably didn’t occur to me).

I wanted something easy to watch on Sunday afternoon and this was exactly right.
It just a really charming and sweet film. Fonda & De Niro were both great. Not a lot happens but I liked that about it. It's a very human story in that way.

Williams' score is really beautiful, been listening to it for years. Really enjoy thode few smaller scores he did in the late 80's & beginning of the 90's. Very heartfelt.

I have it regularly and it slows down my work progress.

I've found some threads in google, with people with the same problem.

Well, if for example you choose to listen to nothing but John Williams in your down time, that's fine with me. It just says you really (really) admire his work. If that extends to following his career very closely, and anticipating any new works, releases, etc., well there's nothing wrong with that either. If you also travel the country (and even the world) to see him perform live any chance you get and spend most of your discretionary income on it, well, that's your prerogative. I'd just call you an "uber fan". Sure, some people might not understand the extent of your passion, but that's their problem, I think.

It's when it starts to go beyond a professional interest, and reaches into a public figure's personal life that it gets weird for me. It's when a fan claims some kind of ownership over the person because they feel this strong connection to him or her, and overstep the boundaries by invading the person's privacy. I mean, go ahead and write them a gushing letter of admiration, but don't show up on their doorstep and expect them to invite you in for coffee, or ambush them at the supermarket you found out they shop at.

In short, "healthy boundaries" for me means not feeling too personally connected to the artist, and just admiring his/her work from a safe distance, but to your heart's content.

Bus is sort of a track that you route multiple tracks to, so you can affect those tracks, and not others.

so if you wanted to have reverb or something on just the strings and brass, but not the percussion, you could do that, without having to do it to every single track.

By the way, I got the job!!  But, they sent me more of inspiration videos, and apart from some film music pieces from Prince of Egypt and Joseph King of Dreams, most are original byzantine hymns!
I am still not sure how am I supposed to "convert" them to film music. This has not happened again to my knowledge.
