I have a rule, for scores of the early 70s and previously, EXCEPT FOR JOHN WILLIAMS, I prefer re-recordings.
It's purely generational, because I was born in 1974.
I think it's marvelous to be able to hear re-recordings of classic scores by Rozsa, Herrmann, Alex North and even Jerry Goldsmith. And If I really want to hear the original scores, there will always be the movies...

Exquisite melodrama based on real events.
I LOVE the score by George Fenton, I think it's his greatest musical achievement. Do yourself a favor and listen to the main theme. (I really hope a complete score is considered)

It’s being reported from capedwonder.com, a pretty good source for all things Superman.

filmmusic got a reaction from A24 in Recently purchased movies / tv series
Just purchased this because it's a limited edition and didn't want to miss out.
A great film! I don't need all those posters and pictures and stuff, but I wouldn't know if it will be released later in a simpler release.
The restoration seems outstanding! I love the grainy images!

filmmusic reacted to Mephariel in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (James Mangold, June 30 2023)
Which is why the film probably shouldn't be made in its current state in the first place. If your character is so old, you need a stunt man and CGI for every scene, that is telling you something.

When everything on the screen has been retouched by CG, it's a videogame, not a movie.

I like the steelbook cover too. This is what I'm gonna buy, if I buy it.

At last, I can buy a Superman Box, without Superman Returns, which I have no interest in!

So, seeing this 2nd teaser makes the film appear worse and worse to me.
Too much CGI for my taste..

I have to agree. While the story could still be great, every shot is just way too clean, glossy and "Marvel-ized"

Looks mostly terrible. Every scene is touched excessively by CGI. Some of the lighting looks great though.

Masterpiece for choir and saxophone!

Great script! Brad Pitt deserving the Oscar nomination (how did he do that thing with his eyes, I wonder).
And a Bruce Willis at his best!
Another 4k Blu-ray I purchased (beware that the initial 4K blu-ray run had a few seconds scene repeated, and that mistake was corrected in subsequent copies. The regular blu-ray has still this error and there are no plans of replacements)

I have purchased the Eureka steelbook of this, but I don't know.. I guess I'm not into silent films. I was bored to death. Mind you, I only saw it once, maybe I'll see it again to re-evaluate, or sell it.

The whole cast is wonderful. One of my all time favorites. I just watched this again recently too. I’m always amazed at how well the special effects hold up. One of the few sci-fi flicks that create a believable future, where McDonald’s still exists and there’s garbage everywhere.

If only it had a beautiful untealed grainy 4k UHD release too. But nooooooo....
(thank God for 35mm fan scans which preserve the original look)
I love this movie. Not as much as Bram Stoker's Dracula, but still it's an excellent piece of cinematic direction, and I don't understand why some people hate it.
It has a great score, cinematography, sets, costumes, make-up etc., a very good performance by DeNiro and I love the overly melodramatic tone.
The Arrow 4k UHD comes highly recommended!
