SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, the score, was not a favourite of mine in the 90s, but has grown on me considerably as I've grown older and fonder of slower and more textural landscapes.

Same here. Except for me, it has become one of my all-time favourites. At the beginning I only liked HTTF, but now I've grown to adore pretty much every single cue, especially Omaha Beach, The Last Battle, Normandy, and even Finding Private Ryan. It's really remarkable how indescribably good and listenable this score is, despite what many superficially think. (For me, it even surpasses War Horse, which of course I also like very much.)

The same issue others have had with the last few tracks of disc 1. Intrada sent a replacement disc out within days of me reporting the fault. Glad most copies appear to be okay.

    Sorry to hear that.

Then there seems to be a defective batch indeed! I wonder how this can happen... With these specialty labels, it seems to happen rather often!

yes. c.d. 1 skips on the last tracks.  As I elaborated before

    Why always you? Weird.

I never had problems with any of my JW CDs that I got through the mail. The worst things to happen to me were broken cases, broken teeth, and missing (artwork) teeth...

I had only one experience with a brand new but flawed CD, which I couldn't correctly rip no matter how many times I tried. But that was a language learning CD, not a music CD.

I did have to re-rip the last couple tracks, some of them multiple times, before it would stop skipping. But it eventually worked fine, and works in my car too.

Well, this may still be (slightly) defective. Unless there was a smudge on it and you wiped it off?

Finally, I'm doing well to wait to order it in December! They'll have time to retire the defective CDs...

Yeah, if it's still available then.

Only those with a Darth Vader avatar have flawed CDs...

Maybe Luke Skywalker is sitting at Intrada, sending out the CDs... :D

Difficult. I'm terrible at tracks in general, but even moreso in a case like WOTW which is such a coherent, singular piece. It's more a set, dystopian mood that ebbs and flows throughout its running time. The whole OST is really like one long track. But I guess if I had to choose, it would be "The Intersection Scene" which is mentioned by several others already.

Yeah, but to make a little easier to choose, I asked for 3 favourite cues or tracks...

Yes that photo is great, Josh. It’s lifted from the end of the Blu-ray/DVD music feature which I would encourage you all to watch.

Yes, you're exactly right! As a matter of fact, I was watching that featurette yesterday, and made a screenshot of that moment myself.... :)

Love this, by the way. John Williams conducting "Escape from the City"... Just wow. Here it is:

    This *IS* a limited edition.

Well, it's not limited to a certain set number of copies is what I meant.
