  1. Then why do you ask? I couldn't care less what people like you think...
  2. Later John Williams returned the compliment by (almost) copying James Horner's Aliens for "Cybertronics" from A.I... At least, that's how I've always felt.
  3. I've read it a long time ago, I don't know where anymore. But maybe you can find an article or report. Look for it yourself. Again, this doesn't have to be true. I don't know.
  4. Is this real? I have never seen this before... I thought the official poster was this. Well, I've read somewhere that he was, anyway. But it doesn't mean it's true, of course. Maybe it's just a baseless rumour.
  5. Yeah, that was my thought as well. I don't think so. It seems we're seeing it for the first time...
  6. Ah, that explains it. Maybe that's why John Williams was reportedly slightly vexed when Titanic won the Oscar in 1998, instead of Amistad...
  7. Well, not just Enya's song. All the Irish tinged cues sound very much like Far and Away, too much so ... I refuse to believe that's just coincidence. Here's an example:
  8. Yes. And James Horner would later be inspired by this score (consciously or unconsciously) when he was writing Titanic...
  9. I remember a time when the score of Far and Away was considered to be on the same level as the original Indiana Jones trilogy and Hook! I think we'll find nothing has changed... The movie was always overshadowed by Hook, Jurassic Park, and Schindler's List (which came shortly before or after Far and Away), but the score was written when John Williams was absolutely at the pinnacle of his career and in top form! A hidden gem, if there ever was one.
  10. Because what JW originally wrote is in the score presentation proper? What they ended up using in the film might have been a rewrite or reedit... I'm gonna relisten to the OST now!
  11. I'm totally excited about this release... But somehow I don't like LLL's cover at first sight. That's a strange font. The original was better... Still, that's just a minor observation.
  12. “FAR AND AWAY: LIMITED EDITION (2-CD SET)” Music by John Williams Limited Edition of 3500 Units RETAIL PRICE: $29.98 STARTS SHIPPING MARCH 13 Wooooohoooo!!!! Finaallyyy!!!
  13. I'm thinking there's never going to be a closing. It'll go on and on, with new directors, writers, actors, composers... As long Disney deems it profitable, it'll go on. Just like with Star Wars!
  14. These JW special edition releases are must-buys for me. The cost of them are already part of my yearly budget, around 200 Euros.
  15. Sounds great. I'm hearing this version for the first time. When this starts playing, you're not rightly sure whether the news or Star Wars is on....
  16. Hildur: "I'm so lucky. I know I'm going to win. You see, I'm blessed with an unpronounceable name. I have to thank my parents. Oh, and by the way, I adore all your works!"
  17. Yeah, exactly. The HP boxset is out of stock too, but I'd have expected this to be OOP a long time ago, actually.
  18. Forgot the link. See above. https://www.postcrossing.com/blog/2017/11/14/poll-results-rate-your-country-s-postal-service
  19. Hmmm, according to this survey, the worst postal services in Europe are those of... 1. Italy 2. Poland 3. Sweden https://www.postcrossing.com/blog/2017/11/14/poll-results-rate-your-country-s-postal-service
