  1. Oh my God, this is great news!!! CAN'T WAIT!!! And today Spielberg announced he'll start shooting Indy V in July 2021. Let's hope JW is on board again!!!
  2. Hmmm, I'm literally hearing about this TV show for the first time! Weird. Not sure yet whether I'm going to buy this, but I'm intrigued! Do I hear a faint hint of "Forward to Time Past" here?
  3. Happy birthday, John Williams!
  4. This reminds me, somebody recently sent me the Harry Potter boxset. I found it on my neighbour's doorstep.
  5. Rewatching TLW now... Always loved that moment at 3:22! JW absolutely going crazy with the percussions!
  6. That's hardly on the same level as JP and HP! Besides, I didn't get that. I considered including the Concord Indy boxset, though, but I have a feeling, that's not the ultimate set.
  7. At the moment, Jurassic Park is winning 26:24! Seems like I'm not in the minority report, after all!
  8. Good memories! They're totally different, but I don't say that one is so much better than the other... I still think that "Journey to the Island" from Jurassic Park, for example, is one of the most perfect, exhilarating, and powerful cues of John Williams' entire career! Beats anything from TLW and anything from HP!
  9. In my early twenties, when I got serious about collecting, I had to rebuy most of the John Williams CDs. As a child, I didn't know how to take care of things... Yeah... I still love listening to the HP set pieces like Harry's Wondrous World, Hedwig's Theme, The Chamber of Secrets, and Mischief Managed, but overall, the JP scores are more listenable from start to finish, I feel like. Meaning the younger generation prefer HP, the more older folks JP? Yeah, probably.
  10. Yes, exactly! Took the words right out of my mouth. When I saw Jurassic Park in the theater, I was twelve. That movie pretty much defined my teenage years, and those years are probably the most impressionable years for most people....
  11. Just because you prefer one thing doesn't mean you have to absolutely hate the other! Like I said, I love them both, I just prefer listening to the music on the Jurassic Park Collection slightly more for the reasons stated.
  12. Yeah, I know one set contains 2 movies, the other 3, etc. etc. But I'm not talking about the superficial stuff, but really the music itself, the whole scores from start to finish. John Williams's creativity and originality, his musical storytelling ability, the creation of pure art. Which set did you or do you still enjoy more? I may be in the minority here but I've found that for me, it's Jurassic Park. Especially The Lost World contains so much great, previously unreleased, shockingly effective stuff, it beats even Azkaban - at least for me. I feel like I can really dive into th
  13. Disney is so humongous now, maybe they'll buy up Intrada, just so it can handle all of its soundtracks in the future... Weirder things have happened!
  14. JFK Born on the Fourth of July Nixon The Patriot Sabrina Seriously, unless it's Star Wars prequels, I'm not all that excited anymore...
  15. It's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull! 😅 Or Hook!
  16. Agreed. The beginning is rather similar, but the climax of HTTF is pure John Williams....
  17. I'm not trying to belittle the contribution of the US, France, and the British in the war, don't get me wrong. But like I said, one shouldn't try to rewrite history. Hitler invaded the Soviet Union, and the Soviets with their Red Army beat and defeated the Nazis. The Americans were simply on Russia's side. One should see the whole picture, it's not like America came and defeated Hitler, even though that's the image the Americans like to present and spread... Incidentally with movies just like Saving Private Ryan.
  18. Yeah, I hear the resemblance. Dunno, maybe it did serve as an inspiration.... I somehow doubt Spielberg used this as a temp track, though.
  19. I just listened to it. Well, it's an American movie, that's why it has a strong pro-American bias. Nobody denies that. Even Spielberg himself admitted that. I know this comes as a shock to many people (Americans), but the Soviet Union defeated the Nazis, period. The Americans entered the war in the very last stages, when it was already abundantly clear that the Nazis were losing.... With the crazy anti-Russian propaganda bs going on in the US, most Americans aren't aware of that, and even if they did, they probably wouldn't care, either.
  20. Beautiful, yes. But there are literally thousands and thousands of choral pieces like this... You're a naive old fart, aren't ya? Hmmm, yeah, maybe. But then what about Schindler's List...?
  21. Oh yeah. We're still in 2020. After 22 years then... 😂 Yeah. I'm surprised that many people who watched the movie actually believe to this day that Tom Hanks's character shot at the tank and made it explode. And I'm like. "Newsflash: The tank was bombed by the planes, duh... !"
