I find the movie compelling and mesmerizing from start to finish....

The final speech at the end is incredibly powerful.

It can be a difficult film to follow (flashbacks within flashbacks), but its a brilliant ride.

In Japan, in the big record stores in Tokyo, you can just buy these Specialty Label soundtrack albums off the shelves.... They always have 3 or 4 copies in stock.

    How amazing is that?

It was always my favorite as a kid...now that I hear it clean, it's the most beautiful thing I ever heard!

No, but seriously, that's a great cue. One of many that I'm beyond thrilled to finally have. Getting a complete TLW has been everything I hoped it would be.

So anybody else blown away by Ludlow's Speech?

Coz I still am. Before I got this set, I wasn't even aware of this cue, it wasn't even on my radar (haha!). Williams seems to be just goofing around here, it seems that effortless, like he's saying to himself, "OK, a little conspiratorial cue, let's see what I can come up with?"

I mean, this is one mind-blowingly catchy cue. JW is channeling "The Conspirators" and "Dennis Steals The Embryos" here.

    Screw the feathers!

None of the dinos in JP and TLW had feathers! The toys should reflect the dinos in the movies...

    No expenses spared....

It depends. They are not cheap, for plastic toys, but they are far less than premium figures, and the quality is great.

Prices range from 10 to 35 $/€ and you can find some sales sometimes

Look in amazon ie Papo "dinosaur name" and they are all there. The newer ones are being less and less JP in designs so i dont buy them anymore.

Anyway, I hope there's no narration.

But then again, this is Sony Classical that did Angela's Ashes, so... Who knows?

If there has to be narration, then the obvious choice would be DDL.

Anybody else always expects to hear "Falling Car" right after "Incident"?

In the movie, they are far apart, but somehow these 2 cues belong together!

For a long time (after 1993) I even thought this is one continuous piece, and a hell of a good one... Until I realized this is made up of two separate cues.

    Hey! I love Jaws!

Have you heard it in its non-microedited form?

    Yes, it's terrific!!

Holy crap - what kind of drugs was he on when he wrote that?!

Might be the most terrifying music I've ever heard!

(Are we sure Williams wrote that and it's not taken from the stage musical?)

That moment's great. The moment from the end of that score that I remember being absolutely entranced by at one point is this:

Utter perfection. Possibly the most longing I've ever heard conveyed in a few seconds of music.

Hatching Baby Raptor, Incident at Isla Nublar and My Friends the Brachiosaurus OSTs edits are masterfully done. Each features "sibling" cues that fit very well together in tone and energy almost as if they were designed that way. No wonder JW used the album edit of My Friends the Brachiosaurus as the basis for the concert version.

Yes. Same here. Its one of the best segues of the two cues. Of course, we are all used to it.It will take time to unburn that memory. I'll play my new set this week end. Its gonna be a great ride.

IIRC JW's music editor assembled the new tracks with suggestions from Williams, who then signed off on the edits.

If chronological order is important to you, these are not for you.

Musically, however, they are quite listenable. I always respect the composer's decision to combine cues for "listenability."
