Opening day, a morning (not midnight) showing if possible. Maybe, midnight...

Am I hearing Anakin's theme at 2:18 in Anakin's Betrayal, or am I just crazy?
ttbk, listening to it....
-
Oh great, thanks, Neil, now all of us will never be able to listen to it again without cringing.

ttbk,
The Imperial March (Gerhardt) -
Oh, right. I went back and read the whole HS report. Nevermind.

Are we sure BotH is a "concert arrangement"?
]At moments in the music, the Force theme emerges, accompany instances of dialogue between Obi-Wan and his fallen student. The duel's most shocking event is built up by a crescendo of drums that suddenly cut out, leaving enough room for the audience to gasp. That sounds like the end of BoTH to me.
ttbk,
A New Hope -
Fiddler On The Roof. The CD has been on my wish list for some time....
ttbk,
Faking The Code -
Also, why is there no "kickass" rendition of The Imperial March on this CD?
So the first big rendition of it will be in ESB? Williams is, of course, pretending Lucas didn't have him insert it into AOTC....
ttbk, thinking out loud...

Franz, I think it's safe to say all of us on this board will be BUYING the official soundtrack when it's release a couple weeks from now.
Or have in fact already paid for it via pre-order....they'll be getting my money, more than once too, since I'm buying my brother it for his birthday.
Just starting it up now...

Doug Adams identified those over at FSM:
JK: Talk about how Sissel's music is in the fan scroll now instead of in the movie where it was going to be.DA: Sissel's music was originally going to be after the big battle on the Fields of Pelennor and it's now in the fan scroll.
JK: I'm slightly devastated that she does not sing during the movie.
DA: Well, she's on the DVD one way or the other.
JK: It's better than you, I guess.
DA: Me?
JK: You're only on the Symphony DVD.
DA: Oh, I thought you meant she'd sung it better than I would have.
JK: [Laughs] Do you have anything to say about the final song, the children's choir at the end of the fan scroll apparently entitled "Bilbo's Song"?
DA: Yes, people don't know that, I don't think. The official name of that last song in the fan scroll in "Bilbo's Song." I think it would be great if this song found a use in The Hobbit someday. That would be very appropriate. On the other hand, who knows what will ever happen with The Hobbit and if this would even fit it, but it would be great for continuity's sake. Another amazing structural touch. Somehow, though, I trust that they're going to come up with something clever no matter what they do.
'Bilbo's Song' isn't in the movie, but I'm presuming the Sissel piece was replaced by the Liv Tyler song.
We're supposed to get an update on the Box-set soon according to a post Doug made over Moviemusic.com, but that was a couple weeks ago.

If I had a dollar for every time I've seen someone ask this over the last two years.....
ttbk
-
Why?
Because since the dawn of the internet this has been the most hotly debated topic on Tolkien messageboards. For some reason.
ttbk_who doesn't know the reason....

In the book, no.
In the movie, yes.

- Hopefully, we all know about the Celebration cue at the end - two totally different recordings.
Anyone who didn't notice this has no ears.

Or hasn't seen the film in a few years.
ttbk_who only found this out six months ago, and hasn't seen the film in at least three years...

A quick search at Amazon reveals that you could probably buy every existing copy of all their albums for less than Towering Inferno is going for on eBay.

Mag 7 Elmer Bernstein (original recording)He lives on through his music....which will be said of JW, but probably not about the Backstreet Boys...
-
Yeah, they're both OOP from what I can find, there's a couple on Ebay though.
Weren't Morgan & Stromberg hoping to record Sea Hawk this year? Giving it the same sort of treatment they gave Robin Hood? Has there been any news on that?

Can anybody reccomend a good recording of Sea Hawk?

Ditto, hopefully I'll have one within a couple months; right now the only place I to play my music is in my CD player, or my PC. *sigh*
