  1. No, I wasn't the one who does the hyperspace updates... but I sat next to him in the booth. I wasn't able to talk to John, he was extremely busy. I am working with publicity to try and get a phone interview after the scoring sessions are over, but he has to hop right onto War of the Worlds, so we'll see how soon it will happen.
  2. Hey, just wanted to update you guys. The scoring session was fantastic. LSO is simply amazing. I sat in the mixing booth with Shawn Murphy and listened in on the 3rd day of recording. JW fans will be happy with the Ep3 score, as the pieces I've heard (a battle scene, jedi council discussion, the ending) are very much like the original trilogy with alot of recognizable themes.
  3. Thank you all for your input! If anyone has any last minute Q's, get them in as I'm wrapping this up this afternoon. I'll be sure to let you know when the information is available (whether an interview or just a report of the recording experience), which will appear in print probably in April.
  4. Yes, it will be used for Star Wars Insider, movies guides, etc. BUT I wouldn't ask negative questions because I respect the fact that he doesn't HAVE to talk to us. I personally am more interested in his methods and philosophies than whether or not Temple of Doom will ever be fully re-released (though I wish it would be). The purpose of posting my request here is so we can avoid the same old "yeah I love working with George" type answers to general questions. I hope that you guys will be satisfied with what we are able to ask.
  5. I will certainly mention jwfan.net in the article.
  6. It's OK if the questions are repeats... because they can spawn other ideas for other questions. I do appreciate, Ender, letting us know that similar questions have been asked. I'm trying to track down other interviews (and boy there are many) to cut down on repetition... mainly because I'm sure Williams is tired of repeating himself! This interview will be for Star Wars related publishing. I am trying to avoid using provided material and come up with info that the readers really want to know about. I will be attending the recording session at Abbey Road and Mr. Williams may or may not have time in his schedule to talk to me directly. But I want to be prepared.
  7. I don't think someone should be bashed because they posted a question. Please keep comments to a minimum and stay on subject. I won't ask questions that in any way question his abilities, though questions about why he chose to do one thing over another are acceptable. The interview will be complimentary and not accusatory. Thanks for the questions so far.
  8. Well if you want my opinion, I think that either 1) He has explored the Harry Potter musical universe enough and feels his further involvement is unnecessary, or 2) He wants to keep his schedule open for new projects and move on. Look at the Superman sequels... Questions like this may be hard for him to answer (i.e. being quoted in print), so keep this in mind when thinking about your questions. And please, remember to respect the subject matter... its been my experience that angry fans (though passionately correct they may be about the subject) are quickly disregarded.
  9. I may have the opportunity to interview John Williams in the near future. This is not verified as of yet, but I may still be able to pass on questions. Though I have many questions of my own, I thought I'd seek out the John Williams fan community and see what questions you may have for him. Please think carefully of what YOU would like to know, for I'd like the article to be more about the man and the process, and not just another general review. The interview will be primarily based around his upcoming Episode III score, but any insightful questions regarding his career are welcome. Any intriguing responses will be reviewed and incorporated into our interview session. Sorry no names, personal messages, or information of that sort will be passed on to Mr. Williams. I will be reviewing responses until Feb 1, after which time "the poll" will close and further posts may not be considered. Thank you for your participation.
