Yes, but why he is never involved in a long animated feature ?

Many composers wrote a score for an animated movie. But John Williams never done it (only the cartoon in the first JURASSIC PARK movie). Can someone tell me why ?

Goldsmith and Verhoeven wanted to do a kind of joke for the audience : "LISTEN... YOU'RE GONNA TO HAVE ONE ARNOLD MOVIE !" That's all... And if i'm not wrong, Goldsmith and Poledouris were in the same agency, so they maybe made a deal for it (and after all... it's only some notes...) God bless Goldsmith !

For me it's not the "new" John Williams... Some years ago, I had to say that Joel McNeely was the one, but now is a kind of Goldsmith/Williams mix (I love !!!!). The new John Williams, in the landscape of the composers of today, it's ALEXANDRE DESPLAT. When you listen to BIRTH or THE GIRL WITH PEARL EARING you got the same feeling as you listen to a Williams' score. The theme are so simple and so beautiful you think how the composer wrote it !

Well, the method for the MV recordings are a bit the same as Randy Edelman does. First, get a BIG orchestra. Record it. Two, when you get this wonderful sound, get an arranger and some "additional arrangers" to put some synth on the orchestra. Why would you tell me ? Because in the theater, we can't hear the music with all the explosions, car chases or others BIG CRASHES ! For GLADIATOR, the music was recorded in London (as HANNIBAL) by the performers of the LSO... It's the same thing with K19 The Widowmaker by Badelt. It's a score I love, but why have they pay to get the KIROV ORCHESTRA & CHORUS and the master baton of Gergiev to put a slice of synths on it ? Hope it can help... Yours Vincent
