Bye bye TLW...
-
Yay first signature!
-
I went for TLW, but it is a toss-up between it and Home and Away.
-
It is undoubtedly the best British film of the 1970s; I would go so far as to say the best British film ever after The Third Man.
It is also a remarkable film in that it successfully crosses all sorts of genres (mystery, horror, musical etc), and has one of the best endings in history.
For me, that is a classic (although I agree the word classic is overused).
-
The original of this film is an absolute classic.
This remake will not be.
-
It sounds so cool! Those blasting trumpets, those soaring woodwinds....
Oh JW, how we love thee.
-
Same. 320 MP3 is best.
-
SYIT has a great theme but is a mediocre score.
-
ESB > ROTS > ROTJ and ANH > TPM > AOTC (because of their butchering in the film)
-
Adventures on Earth is fabulous, and so is the last 15 minutes of music from AOTC.
-
This poll has been a disaster! SL now Hook gone! Jeez...
In spite of that, it is between TLW and SYIT; TLW for me (the best bits of it are from JP).

Also, it says "It is an impossibility to always be the single best in your field every single year of your existence". If Williams had won 45 Oscars, perhaps then this complain may be warranted. But he has not. He has won 5. He has been the best in his field for 5 years of his existence, according to the Academy. He has been in the top 5 most years. That does not seem unreasonable.
This guy is basically a jackass.

For me, ROTK, but I can think of half a dozen better scores from the 21st Century.
-
On what possible grounds is Hook getting votes?!

Kim Basinger in LA Confidential

This is the last easy round.
HA2.
-
This all bodes well for the Williams sweep of the awards this season.
-
When the best bit of a score is a pop song, that says something.
-
Either the first or the last of the decade.
-
Overall an excellent effort. The first minute or so is suitably mysterious, setting up that area of the character. The edit at 1:00 is nice and smooth, and the next thirty seconds of music are followed by that brilliantly clever edit at 1:42ish. The battle music is unfortunately short (but that is the film's fault...), and the next edits into the choir and then funeral music are nice. The non-appearance of the choral funeral music is particularly well-handled, with the Imperial March and ending chords nicely mixed in. Overall, a superlative effort.

Home Alone 2, then SPR.
-
It is a sad day when what was maybe the best score is voted out so early.
-
This poll is not hard yet. Once Amistrad, Home Alone 2 and SPR are out - THEN it gets hard.

Are Whitebeard, Wenda or Woof there too?
