  1. I haven't had any problem with the quality of digital downloads, so I'm all for it! As with all art, the medium is constantly changing. I wouldn't be surprised if we had almost the complete Tron: Legacy score because of this.
  2. I would've picked NARNIA if it weren't for Inception... Otherwise, Narnia is leaps and bounds above Harry
  3. David Arnold certainly showed far more restraint than I expected, but it's still a good score. He wisely uses Harry Gregson-Williams' main theme, but sparingly. I think it'll grow on me.
  4. New movie, new score. Zimmer didn't quote Elfman or Goldenthal for BATMAN, so there's no reason to quote Williams for SUPERMAN.
  5. Good call on Star Wars KOTOR, John! I'd also like to mention (of course) Mark Griskey's phenominal FORCE UNLEASHED II score: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAhtjXfNet8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVBL2qkNoQI Hopefully he will be able to continue and possibly finish his own musical trilogy with Force Unleashed 3...
  6. I tried to find tracks from Tilton/Giacchino's FRACTURE score, but I had no luck. Terribly underrated sci-fi action score!
  7. I think I know better than everyone else what the music should sound like, despite the fact there's no script or scenes or movie to speak of yet....
  8. Two more.... FABLE by Danny Elfman and JUMPER by Chris Tilton
  9. Anyone who questions whether videogame music has the on-going potential to surpass film music listen no further... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADmx-YTX11U If you're not convinced after listening to these clips, perhaps videogame music is just not for you.
  10. There are many scores I own and love whose films I've never seen. So no, they don't require the film as a crutch. If anything, music makes me appreciate the film more!
  11. I did put "(USA Residents Only)" in the topic's subtitle to try to help people avoid that rude surprise. Holy Christmas Batman! FYI 58 minutes of that is the Nutcracker alone
  12. Thanks for the add, that's awesome! I got the $1.99, 99-song Christmas album http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002S34S82/ref=docs-os-doi_0
  13. I don't particularly consider Alien, Matchstick Men, Black Hawk Down, Hannibal, Gladiator or Kingdom of Heaven to be "lifeless, droning music."
  14. He hasn't "ruined the orchestral film score" by any means." John Williams, James Horner, James Newton Howard, Alan Silvestri, Brian Tyler, Danny Elfman, David Arnold, Marco Beltrami, and Michael Giacchino are just some of the few who are still composing terrific orchestral film scores. Easy answer.
  15. I didn't think it was terrible, but audiences did. The score made the movie for me though; it was a return to Zimmer's power-anthem style, which I know a lot of people hated.
  16. I've been listening to the score since it was released! Love the theme, more excellent work by the ever-reliable Trevor Morris. Highly recommended to fans of The Tudors or King Arthur
  17. http://www.tracksounds.com/reviews/the_force_unleashed_2_mark_griskey.htm 08 - Assault on Kamino is the best!! Plenty of Darth Vader present in that track
  18. Can someone upload hi-res covers for THE LONE GUNMEN and HARSH REALM please? Thanks!
  19. Great HP covers!! Here's hoping you have to make ones for COS recording sessions...
  20. Just watched CHASE, scored by Bruckheimer-vet Trevor Morris. Pretty standard cop fare; lead character and quirky team track down bad guys paint-by-number style. The score was good, but I'm sure we'll never hear it apart from the show.
  21. "Fate Has Smiled Upon Us" comes between "Pact Sworn in Blood" and "Returning the Crown." It's the part where Robin and co. discuss plans to 'return to England rich men.' It's dialed down quite a bit in the film.
  22. I know, I'd just like to get it before I have to deploy again! (which is a 6-12 month additional wait)
