Far too many to list, but they include Raiders of the Lost Ark (original LP, and both original and expanded CDs), E.T. original CD and LP, The Exorcist limited edition CD (with Lalo Schifrin's rejected score), Patrick Doyle's Carlito's Way, several OOP Charles Gerhardt albums and the Star Wars Anthology box set (sadly missing the booklet).

Hollow Man is a very good score, but not really essential. Rambo III is also good (though not as good as II), but suffers from a poor performace by the orchestra. As for the Omen films - none of them are true classics, though the first one is very entertaining. It's not particularly scary, and the story is pretty silly, but it's very well made, worth a rental (even if only to hear the score in context).

I do! It's a fantastic score, intense in places but also incredibly beautiful. You won't find many who think The Omen is JG's single greatest work (as the Academy seemed to), but it's still wonderful. I particularly like the love theme. And the "Deluxe Edition" has the nearly complete score. If you like it, get the other two - Damien: Omen II and The Final Conflict. Actually, get The Final Conflict even if you don't like The Omen, it's totally different. Omen II is actually my favourite of the three, but it's based heavily on material from the first score, which I'd recommend buying first.

Good film scores (almost) ruined by shitty tie-in pop singles.

Not sure if this counts really, but whenever I hear the "Captain's Log" cues from TMP, I immediately think of Jack Black's performance of the vocal version of the TV theme, with those awful lyrics ("Beyond the rim of the starlight..."). None of the other versions of Courage's theme make me think of that, just those ones. -
I have the original (1999) Alien DVD, with the second isolated score which, as I understand it, presents the complete score as Goldsmith intended. My question is: does the other isolated score (the one that presents the score as it is in the film), or the original album, have any additional music that's not on the "intended" iso score (not counting the Freud and classical stuff, obviously)? Or is the "intended" iso score truly, honestly the complete Goldsmith score?

What is the Last Film You Watched? - Part II

I've heard the Criterion edition is very good. You can see screen caps from it here. -
Wow, I really hope that's true. But can you imagine how long it will be before we get the complete unedited "Battle of Hogwarts" cue?

I saw Olivier's Henry V theatrically. I hadn't seen it before, and I didn't care for it. I liked parts of it, and the idea (of how to adapt it) was certainly interesting... but something felt REALLY off, can't quite place what. Olivier himself was very good, though. -
Got a chance to listen to a lot while in the airport and on the plane last week. At the airport I listened to Carlito's Way, Airport (what else?), Last Stand at Saber River and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. During the flight I listened to Superman - The Movie. On the way back, at the airport I listened to The Misfits and Spartacus. On the flight back I listened to both the original tracks and re-recording of The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes. It's a really great score, especially the new recording, which is my favourite album of the year so far. Now I'm listening to Randy Newman's rejected Air Force One score. I forgot how much I enjoy this score. In a way it's more interesting than Goldsmith's replacement - but I can see why they rejected it, Newman seemed to score it was a parody, it would have made the film even hokier and sillier than it already is.

Philosopher's Stone, with Prisoner of Azkaban a very close second.
-
Better than most, definitely, but Star Trek - The Motion Picture and Spartacus would be more deserving than the likes of On Golden Pond and High Noon.

Here's my first attempt at this (sorry about the poor quality - I'm far from expert at this kind of thing ). It's the complete "Killer Storm" cue from The Omen. In the film, only the section from 1:30-2:48 was used. I can see why they cut the first part of the cue, but they should definitely have left in the ending. See for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGrqwFhm3OY Looking at it now, I probably should have mixed the music a bit louder, but it still works OK.

Should I get them or not? What do you think? help!

Alien I'd recommend over any version of Angela's Ashes, with or without dialogue. -

Don't judge Alien's score on what you remember from the film, it was butchered beyond recognition. If you've found the original OOP album, buy it! It's a truly great score. -
Of those, my favourite is Williams (Herrmann close second), and my least favourite Zimmer, but...

Difficult to say... both have a few cues I listen to from time to time, but neither really interests me overall.
