  1. According to DVD Beaver, there shouldn't be an insert (look at the features list).
  2. What?? There's hardly any criticism of Williams at all in the latest article - the closest thing to a criticism is his calling Sleepers unmemorable.
  3. It's the only version of TMP available on DVD, and it's also the best version, so yes. But if you don't like it, don't let that put you off watching the next one (The Wrath of Khan), which is different in just about every imaginable way.
  4. It's tracked from other parts of the score, the first part is from "Rock Shop".
  5. I don't know, it hasn't been released or reviewed yet.
  6. Can't remember which the first I bought was, but the first I owned was a cassette recording of the Superman LP.
  7. Indeed. Can't wait to get that one, along with Amazing Stories 3.
  8. The European version is supposedly going to be on the same disc as the theatrical, with seamless branching.
  9. Simple. Scott is releasing all the versions, to satisfy those people.
  10. But Scott has never had final cut on Blade Runner. The work print was just that, a work print. Never intended for release. The preview version was basically the same as the theatrical version (with only a few different shots) - and that theatrical version was nothing like what Scott wanted, it was taken out of his hands, re-edited and a silly voice-over was added. The international version was like the theatrical cut, only with more violence. About 15 seconds difference in all. The so-called "director's cut" was far closer to Scott's original vision, but Scott was NOT involved in the prepration of it. It was put together in a hurry - the narration was dropped, the happy ending cut off, but the extra violence from the international version was still missing. This will be the first time any version of the film has been released that Scott himself completed. Unlike Lucas, who as far as I know has had final cut on every version of Star Wars released so far, and has at various times called every one definitive. And besides, Scott is releasing all the versions. If Lucas did that, people would have no need to complain about the revised versions.
  11. The Living Daylights has unimpressive villains, but overall I enjoy it a lot. Licence to Kill I disliked at first, but it really grew on me after a while.
  12. Same here. Reloaded has some of the most impressive action scoring in recent years. Sadly the best part was rejected.
  13. I thought Robert Davi's performance was VERY forgettable in that film.
  14. http://www.varesesarabande.com/News.asp "We’re havin’ a heat wave. A CD Club heat wave! Get ready for a last blast of cool CD Club releases to help get you through the summer. Five new titles, including a new release from Masters Film Music … maybe even a 2 CD set! Don’t miss stopping by on July 2 for some midnight madness … CD Club style!"
  15. I thought the Matrix scores were fairly well-liked around here, too. I certainly like them very much.
  16. I just watched Minority Reoprt. Good film, despite the gaping plot holes, very well made. Max von Sydow is always fun to watch. About the ending: I'd change very little. After Lamar's death, keep the shots of the deserted Precrime place, just lose the narration, and the shots of John and Lara, and the pre-cogs.
  17. Don't know about noise, but I just found it extremely uninteresting.
  18. You'd be "better" to listen to their butchery of the Hunt for Red October theme.
