  3. Stop gloating, and bashing those who actually have Faith in Williams.
  4. ARGH! At least he didn't look disappointed like before... He just took in a deep breath, smiled, and clapped. BUT THOSE IGNORANT FUCKING CUNTS AT THE ACADEMY! How could they possibly give away Oscar to a shabby 13 minute score over 2 Genius scores by Williams? Honestly, HOW??? I just don't understand it... I mean, the two scores are clearly better than brokeback, any human being with an ounce of taste could see that... Is this not Best Original Score anymore??????
  5. I feel sorry for Munich with only 3 votes It was a great score I guess, but yeah it's my least favourite out of those four , lol
  6. Oh, WOW! I read on Davis' Website a while back that he was arranging a concert suite, but after not hearing anything about it, I assumed that it had just been brushed under the rug, so-to-speak. Jack - Can't wait to hear this!
  7. Definetely happy with Geisha, I think it's a beautifully crafted, versatile, amazing score. But I would have preferred Williams to have scored GoF. As it is, I'm not happy with Doyle's score. I thought it was melodically and thematically uninteresting. The chromatic melodic ideas that he uses are just so tacky and ammateurish I think. I just thought that the whole GoF score lacked any really good ideas and some of the action cues were cring-worthy and MV-ish (especially that Bulgarian Theme shite). I know Williams would've done a much better job with such an inspiring film.
  8. It's a single synth note.. Sounds like something that might be named "Dream" or "Fantasia Pad" or something like that. It doesn't really seem to serve much purpose though, musically. lol
  9. I didn't like the Narnia Score at all. I actually think it ruined the film somewhat. There was only really one cue from the film that I liked, it wasn't on the soundtrack. It was a short 40 sec (roughly) cue when "they" were running away through the woods from "something"... (Like I can remember, the film sucked )
  10. Anyone who questions Elfman's composing techniques should watch the featurette on the Men in Black II Bonus DVD.. It's really informative. Regarding Vagnelis... I'm really not a fan... And like someone else said, compared to the greats like Williams, Goldsmith, Elfman, he's just insignificant.. His music is so bland, and messy, and eugh.
  11. Jason, what sample library do you use for those fast horn glissandi, and flute runs? (like in the Spiderman 2 thing)
  12. DONT LOWER THE PITCH! Change speed/resample! Otherwise you will induce considerable quality loss.
  13. You're very talented. Wow. Care to share how you got into video game composing?
  14. Total Recall (Jerry Goldsmith) The Matrix Trilogy (Don Davis)
  15. I just hope that if GoF is nominated, it doesn't win. That would be a major kick in the nuts to Williams.
  16. WTF How the hell did all that MV shite get ahead of any Williams score? o_O
  17. Am I the only one who wanted to go and shit all over that little brat who was sitting behind Kenny Hall and looked like he was about to fall asleep with his head resting in his hand.. HOW DISRESPECTFUL!! ... I wish I was there, I may have actually shat though, so,, probably best that I wasn't. Oh, and some guy kept sniffing up mucas with that horrible throaty noise all the way through... :@
  18. Kong is great, but nothing compared to The Lost World.
  19. Does it sound distant and reverberated in places, like the bootleg that I have?
  20. Actually I've changed my mind... Favourite Track EVER is... Ontological Shock, Don Davis, The Matrix
  21. I don't think it really matters if a composer's work sounds like another composer's work. In fact, it doesn't even bother me if there's the occasional note-for-note rip. All humans are "sheep", so-to-speak - it's why we all have these common similarities. For example, it's why we all speak the same language as others around us, or why we dress similarly to others around us or who we respect, etc... With Music, it has evolved simply by copying, and gradual distortion over time... Every single composer or song writer copies. It's why all music from a certain genre sounds like it's from that genre, because somebody has simply copied the style of that genre. It's why we can differenciate between "film music" and "Classical music"... In short, EVERYONE copies, be it subconsciously or consciously, and In my mind, it doesn't matter, in fact, it's simply something that must be done in order for music to evolve, and to spark inspiration.
  22. Lol. People here are very narrow minded and naive if they think that Williams hasn't ripped parts of other composer's works, be it subconscious or conscious... And when I say rip, I mean basically note-for-note in some cases.
  23. Well, if you listen closely, it's pretty clear.. Especially that there's at least woodwind/xylophone,, you have to listen a bit closer to hear the mute trumpets and to separate the woodwinds.
