  1. Absolutely Amazing! You are truly Talented :D

Is that the VSL? ( Sounds like it to me ;) )

If so, What package do you have and what sort of PC do you have? Also, do you use GigaStudio with Cubase?

    Thanks :)

  2. Stefan your so funny especially with your flaming vagina avatar.

Either you have never seen a vagina in your life, or your wife is somekind of mutant.

    LMFAO!!!!! :(

I prefer to Listen to the Soundtrack after I have seen the film, so that I can listen to the music and associate the images with what John Williams composed the music for. But I suspect that if there are leaks, etc.. I may not be able to resist the temptation LOL

  3. You're all jocking, rigght? 16 MTV like video clips, mostly of muisc we all know by heart -- do we need this??? Were are the interviews, the real featurettes on Williams criative process in working on the Star wars saga? That was the great stuff, not this poorly edit music track to fit into the video structure, filled with Ben Burtt anoying sound effects.

At 70 minutes, I'm sure there will be interviews and discussion about the music and their importance to the films. It couldn't be 70 minutes of "MTV"

....although I wouldn't really mind listening to 70 minutes of SW MTV.

    Mr. K

    hehe LOL me neither

  4. http://starwars.com/episode-iii/bts/me3/12.html

That's the URL to a Star Wars Webdoc - -"The Wookies are Back"

At the very end of the video, there is a short passage of Percussive music, I didn't recognise it from any other of the Star Wars Films, So i'm wondering if it's maybe from ROTS. I listened again, thinking it may just be some Ben Burt stuff or whateva,, but if you listen carefully at the very last millisecond as it fades out, you can hear some horns just coming in, so it must be Willams' stuff. So I'm really asking is this old or new? :)

  5. I liked the little thing that Don Davis did for the Opening of JP3, with the puddle/shaking. And the slightly inspired motif from John Williams. And that lovely sharp Brassy Gliss at the end -- Makes me tingle all over! :(

  6. I felt that the Titanic Score was VERY average -- It was OK, Had some nice moments, Some interesting parts -- Nice orchestration in places, But Mainly a very plain, simple score. It isn't Oscar Material in my opinion, and simply doesn't compare to the standards of John Williams. Also, the OST wouldn't of sold very well if it wasn't for Celine Dion.

  7. I love the bond in action -- What sample set is that? It sounds amazing  -- Very Hollywood

Thanks very much. I am using a combination of Garritan Orchestral strings and Vienna Symphonic library for brass & woodwind.

What Vienna Symphonic Library package are you using? Opus 1? Also, what sample engine do you use? Native Instruments Kontat, GigaStudio 3? Thanks :)

  8. I am having a devil of a time figuring out how to master my recorded scores, very often my stuff sounds muddy and distant. Yet some of the music posted here sounds clean and clear. I realised my mistake in the past was that I was using too much reverb to disguise my cr*p sample set   :D . But I think I have rectified this problem by buying some new samples and using GigaPulse for the reverb. I've got two scores that I have done so far to show you guys.

The first one I wrote for my brothers student film, recorded with the Bulgarian Philharmonic orchestra and choir:

The second I wrote as a try out for my new sample set. I was going for a bond style piece to underscore an action scene:

    http://www.heskethmediaproductions.co.uk/h...in%20action.mp3

I processed the bond piece with a bit of EQ?ing, but this has resulted in some clipping. I tell you it?s a right game getting the volume levels right without it clipping. It?s not just a case of setting your recording level at the right setting and there you go. You then have to fiddle around with the EQ settings to bring out the best in the piece.

Any helpful suggestions or pointers would be appreciated. :P

  9. Speaking of samples... I have Native Instruments Kontakt Player Gold (for Sibelius 3) and Native Instrtuments Komplete 2 (Kompakt, Kontkat, Intakt, etc..) but this has limited samples. Does anyone know of a sample set with some nice flutes (not solo sort of thing, something that I could use more aggressively). Thanks :)

Oh, I use Sibelius 3 for writing and some sample outputting, and Cubase SX 2 for Final Output, touching up, volume leveling, VST Instruments, etc..

  10. I've just started on a piece called "Clockwork". It's for my A-Level music. :) It will probably be quite simple, as I'm limited to 10 instruments and no more than 3 minutes long. I've got a sort of marimba/string serialism motif going on.. I'll post the MP3 when it's finished
