  1. Have anyone of you managed to make a decent rip of the final minutes of Revenge of the Sith score plus the movie end credits? If so, could you please PM me? I would VERY MUCH like to hear it, as I love the final minutes of score in the movie. --Pelzter.
  2. It still seems to me that the two are very similar - especially in the scene I mentioned. Just put on the DVD and find the scene with Luke and Obi-Wan, and listen carefully as Luke asks how his father died. --Pelzter
  3. This is of course an extreme long-shot, but having just viewed the scene in A New Hope where Obi-Wan talkes about how Darth Vader murdered Luke's father, I seem to hear something familiar. Just as Luke asks: How did my father die?, a motif appears, that seems to be a mix of the Imperial Theme from ANH... and Battle of the Heroes from ROTS. It is definitly a variation, but they seem somehow very similar. Thoughts on this? In any case, I think it's a wonderful coincidence! --Pelzter.
  4. At least according to the not always accurate Internet Movie Database, John Williams will score James Cameron's giant 2007 sci-fi epic Battle Angel. If true, great news!! It's common knowledge that Williams was the original composer on Titanic, so this just might be true --Pelzter, very excited.
  5. This comes from a discussion I had with one of my friends about Vaders final lines in ROTJ: "You were right about me." What does this mean? I believe it means: "I made the wrong choices, Luke. You made the right ones. I realise that now." My friend believes: "You were right to think that there was good in me." My friend also believes, that luke is able to control both sides of the force, as "shown" in his burst of rage towards vader in ROTJ and his leaving Yoda in ESB. I find this to be without logic. Thoughts?
  6. I was just wondering what your thoughts might be on this? Personally, I think it works wonders in the movie - however, any idea as to why that particular piece was used? To me, it seems to underscore a Jedi Funeral; that Anakin's funeral is his transformation into Vader, maybe a misleading clue that his Jedi persona is now lost forever. Thoughts? Pelzter, who is thrilled by the score in the movie (and the lack of jarring edits)
  7. I might also add, that another MF review talkes about the Jedi Purge sequences having "FANTASTIC SCORE" (yes, in capital letters). Very nice! :-D --Pelzter
  8. From a review of the film: "there are recycled score sections. The first is the "The Droid Battle" theme when they begin the attack on the Wookie planet, you see the droids appearing from under the water (it's quite cool), and the wookies beginning their attack etc... and "Duel of the Fates" is in - despite what you've heard...when Yoda fights Sidious in the Senate room, it's also in a small section of the duel afterwards that as well (as they're intercutting between the two). So no, it's not all-new score....I'd say 90% is mostly new score, but small sections are from the other two prequels" This I can definitly live with :-) --Pelzter.
  9. Having heard the theme in full for the first time just now, I find it absolutly wonderful! It is classic 80s Williams; the strings are right out of E.T. and Amazing Stories: The Mission, and the more playful brass section sounds like parts of Jaws or The River to me. And I love it! A few questions: 1) When was the original piece written? 1985? and: 2) How is the 2004 version different? Is it simply a re-recording? --Pelzter, loving Williams' triplet-heavy pieces
  10. According to theforce.net, the music underscores Grievous' flight to Utapau. --Pelzte.r
  11. It seems like a very dark Harry Potter. And I love it for just that reason! --Pelzter, growing more excited.
  12. The ringtone is nine notes right? But isn't the tv spot theme only eight? It sounds edited somehow... Any thoughts on this? --Pelzter, slighly puzzled.
  13. According to MillenniumFalcon.com, the OFFICIAL CD track titles are as follows: Track Titles: 1. Star Wars & The Revenge of the Sith 2. Anakin's Betrayal 3. Battle of the Heroes 4. Anakin's Dream 5. The Reunion of Anakin and Padme 6. Welcome, Lord Vader 7. Padme's Ruminations 8. Grevious Travels to Palpatine 9. I Am the Senate 10. General Grevious 11. Palpatine's Dark Teachings 12. Anakin vs. Obi-wan 13. Anakin's Dark Deeds 14. The Immolation Scene 15. The Birth of the Twins & Padme's Destiny 16. A New Hope & End Credits --Pelzter, very excited!
  14. It IS Shadows of the Empire, it clearly features Xizor's Theme. --Pelzter-
  15. At least that's what the IMDB is claiming. sounds quite interesting, and it makes sense, since it's Chris Columbus. Thoughts on this? --Pelzter
  16. The two, I am specifically looking for right now, are The Eiger Sanction (wonderful theme) and Seven Years in Tibet (by far the best theme of 1997) Do anyone know of any released re-recordings of these? I would love to hear them! --Pelzter
  17. Maybe it's just me, but now all the music seems familiar to me... Could it be new music? --Pelzter
  18. I often wonder what it must be like just to sit down and be able to write a stunningly beautiful piece of music. John Williams is able to do this; even though the man is in his 70s, he's still able to turn out better music than anyone today, pretty much. Do you think he "aims" to write beautiful music, or it is not something he even thinks about? --Pelzter, fascinated by this talent.
  19. How exactly did you hear that? Any chance you could rip it? --Pelzter
  20. Well, I talk about Williams with the people, from whom I've enherited the love for film music, namely my mother and my two older sisters. I have also managed to at least partly convert some of my friends --Pelzter
  21. I've just recently discovered this lovely, rather subdued theme from Spielberg's new movie. Have any of you here noticed how it has a very classic Hollywood feel to it? Like Bernstein maybe? --Pelzter, who really líkes the theme, but cannot help noticing how the first few notes are very similar to the Ludlow Theme from Legends of the Fall
  22. This piece has got me puzzled; well, not the piece itself, it's as straight forward as they come, but rather my feelings towards it. The theme i'm taking about, it Achilles' Theme (I guess), played best halfway through the final cue, and is also the melody used for the dreadfull song at the end. I am biast because I think the theme is absolutly beautiful, albeit very simple and generic in construction. My only argument is... that IT IS ALMOST THE THEME FROM STARGATE....! Thoughts on this? --Pelzter.
  23. This has the potential to be THE Williams score of the new Millennium, perhaps even of E.T. quality. Thoughts? --Pelzter, who can't wait, frankly.
  24. You're all right, there are so many great ones! Incl. The Racer Roars to Life, although it's technically a minute and a half (which would have made the inclusion of Prologue from Hook and Amazing Stories Main Titles possible)... --Pelzter.
  25. In my opinion, it is definitly To Castle Brunwald.... --Pelzter
