  1. I don't remember is Luthor was mentioned by name, but there is a Lex-Corp truck in the film that gets smashed into. Also The Daily Planet globe is seen in the film at the end as well.
  2. This is a cute one. Edit: doesn't seem to have posted. Damn ipad.
  3. I'm glad you were able to finally get an autograph! Maybe next year will be my lucky year for it. It was a great concert, Lincoln was certainly a highlight and differed from the OST quite a bit at times. I'll write more when I get home tomorrow. It was great meeting all of you!
  4. The Accidental Tourist would have been great to hear, it's a shame it was replaced! Same with The Throne Room, which I'd prefer to hear over the other Star Wars selections. But otherwise I really like that program!
  5. Nope, but we should know after tonight. I wouldn't be surprised if it's similar to the Baltimore program.
  6. I was going to hit the Baltimore concert as well this year, an old teacher of mine from Towson plays in the orchestra, but I decided to go to a David Sedaris reading/book signing tonight instead.
  7. I really think that the limiting factor in Desplat's HP scores was Yates' musical wishes, not an inability on Desplat's part to write something grand.
  8. What time do you think we'd be doing dinner at, 5:30 or 6ish?
  9. Interesting seeing a piccolo trumpet at the end, I don't recall hearing it in the score. The end credits sheet music seen near the beginning said V.2 with added choir, so I suppose a choirless version existed. Who knows if it was recorded.
  10. A minor quibble, but having a British Khan bothered me since the timeline diverged way after Khan was frozen. I'd have preferred them stay accurate to that, as well as his personality, or else keep the John Harrison character simply as John Harrison.
  11. I guess I should mention, if we're doing reservations or anything like that, I'll have 2 other people with me. Not members here.
  12. By staying 20 minutes out of the city I managed to save more than $100 off the cost of an in-city hotel, I don't think that's a bad option.
  13. Another thing to consider is that his operation is much smaller than the other independent labels, he likely cannot afford to over press releases and have them sit around.
  14. I have it, just got around to listening to it for the first time last night. It has that Horner sound, on a small scale. Beautiful trumpet solos. The piano passages are great, and his string writing is very familiar. Familiar in a good way - there really isn't any of his self quoting in here. It's a very nice score, something that would actually compliment Saving Private Ryan very well.
  15. Me? Yup. http://www.orbitz.com/shop/home?type=hotel&hotel.type=keyword&hotel.coord=&hotel.keyword.key=Waltham%2C+MA%2C+United+States&hotel.locId=loc.id%3A11411&hotel.chkin=06%2F08%2F13&hotel.chkout=06%2F09%2F13&hotel.rooms%5B0%5D.adlts=1&hotel.rooms%5B0%5D.chlds=0&hotel.rooms%5B0%5D.chldAge%5B0%5D=&hotel.rooms%5B0%5D.chldAge%5B1%5D=&hotel.rooms%5B0%5D.chldAge%5B2%5D=&hotel.rooms%5B0%5D.chldAge%5B3%5D=&hotel.rooms%5B0%5D.chldAge%5B4%5D=&hotel.rating=&hotel.chain=&hotel.hname=&hotel.couponCode=&search=Search&hsv.showDetails=true&hotel.hid=114545&hotel.hkey=114545_null_null_null_A1:0 That's the hotel I booked at.
  16. For those of you familiar with the area, I was planning on getting a hotel in Waltham because rates are reasonable there. Google maps says that's about 25 minutes from symphony hall, would you say that's accurate? It seems to be right off of I-95.
  17. I liked the trailer. I liked the music, I think it further cements what sort of tone this score will have and if the final product ends up sounding like this I'll be very happy. It's very optimistic sounding, appropriate for the character.
  18. I'll be attending the concert on Saturday the 8th and will be staying the night, so I'm available that day.
  19. The listing was removed from the site, I believe. A while back I think. Hal Leonard doesn't list it, nor does any other music site I've seen. I think it is probably accurate information, but the product was probably held back for whatever reason. Maybe the info was sent out early by mistake. Similar thing happened with the Signature Editions for Horn book. It was listed years ago on Sheet Music Plus and several other sites, but was eventually pulled. It wasn't published until last year, which was about 2 years after the initial listings for it.
  20. Wow, I missed a lot! I would love to help, this is a fun score to study, but I've had zero free time these past few weeks because of gigs. Nice work K!
  21. My copy shipped today, I'm excited to check this out! I was reading on Scott Glascow's post about it that the style is supposed to be somewhat based on the Dover edition study scores, cool stuff.
