If I may humbly suggest to anyone who already knows they are buying this, to experience the new album when it arrives when you have 2 1/2 hours to set aside to give it a dedicated listen.  Well, or even just the main program, which is only 1 hour 45 minutes.
 
Listening to clips on a podcast or even the samples that will go live on Tuesday will only spoil that once-in-a-lifetime experience you can have, it you have the willpower to avoid them before that first listen.
 
Conversely, if you are thinking the OST is enough for you or you haven't liked this score at all in the past, in that case I strongly recommend listening to the samples on Tuesday, as they might just reveal aspects of this score you weren't aware of before.

How do you define the returns for a specific use case - especially the original one? How much money does the music used in the film itself make?  Is it more or less than the income generated by an album release?
 
But of course, these niche soundtrack releases are a special case and not representative of what these rules were made for in general. What it certainly does is prevent studios from contracting an orchestra to record music for a single film, and agreeing on an adequate payment based on that and the amount of money that will generate for the studio, and then going on to use the same recordings for ten more films, 20 TV series, 30 video games, and a dozen amusement parks, without paying anything beyond the initial contract.

Well, this is it boys and girls. The 29th, and what is possibly?, the final collaboration between Steven Spielberg and John Williams. Enjoy!
 

 
 

We watched the season finale last night.
 
Bear's score makes a huge impact in it!  For what felt like the first time I felt myself really noticing every theme statement, including Elrond's theme which honestly I hadn't picked up when watching any episode prior.
 
The introduction of the full ring theme melody was awesome, as was the song appearing immediately at the end of the episode.

What a joy it's been to have 2 months of new television to watch with a great huge orchestral & choral film score full of good memorable themes every week!

Last time it was a touring orchestra from Europe.
 
Chances of it being NY Phil players are slim though, a lot of these concert are performed by freelancers via the local AFM.  Sometimes it’s folks from the major orchestras, but generally not.

Memoirs did it for me.  

But it's still James Cameron, so my butt will be in a seat this December to see if he manages to capture some magic.

I've been making way way through this score this week in pieces during commutes and man, I'm discovering so much more about it than I even realized was in here.
 
I feel like for a long time I only really noticed the Han A and B themes, Enfys Nest theme, and old JW themes from the old movies for the most part
 
Now I hear Chewie's theme, Secrets, L337's theme, the gang theme, Qi'Ra's theme, etc all over the score. Not a lot of time goes by without one of the themes popping up, and they are always different renditions every time.

This score is a real gem.  Boy, it's a shame Disney screwed up the marketing of the film and we aren't already on our way to finishing up a trilogy with this cast and composer by now

Legends of the Fall is a great score.  I don't give a shit if it's restrained or not.

Reissuing this also means that this will remain in LLL's License domain. 
 
JP being a mega Williams seller will generate more revenue for LLL to sustain and release more Williams titles in the future.

Does the "Young Leia" and "Days of Alderan" remind anyone else rather of Horner's Avatar music than of Star Wars music?
 

A French horn, which is the same instrument that played here theme in 1977, and sounds almost exactly the same?
