The best parts of the score are all during the most inspired parts of the movie.
 
The last third of that movie is very uninspired and sadly the music follows suit.
 
- Way too many characters along for the ride
- Mac's storyline became a joke unto itself
- Nobody cared about Oxley
- a lackluster jungle chase scene that can't even be mentioned in the same breath as it's predecessors,
- a complete jumbled mess as to how they finally get to the interdimensional beings. (3 waterfalls with no sense of peril and the Ugha Warriors were treated like a joke)
 
Still love it though.    The good still outweighs the bad for me.

I can't really write, so I have to use a sequencer whether I want to or not. Although admittedly I do seem to get my best ideas when I'm in the shower, on the crapper, or on a long road trip (TMI). In those instances I have to rely on continuously humming the melody to myself over and over again for potentially over an hour, or if I have my phone with me I'll just record myself humming like a moron.

That's an underrated movie.  The script is quite impressive, with the racial tension between the lead characters both subtle yet well defined.  Definitely worth watching.    

Who doesn't miss Gene Hackman in movies.

It's probably nothing more than musicians showing off anyway.

in honor of Ennio I finally got around to this, the only individuals score in my Morricone collection of which I had not seen the movie.
I endured the pain for Ennio.

Maybe not of all time, but surely it's one of the worst movies released in 2018. I think I even prefer Venom over this mess.

The penultimate ep was good!

The album just doesn't make much sense musically, especially that horrid Escape from the Basket track. The complete score flows much better.
 
The cue that I really like is called Woods Walk (I think). But there are other things as well.

It's indeed all needle-dropping. Esmail was keen on only using pre-existing music, with a clear old school sound. Getting the rights to all that music ended up being just as expensive, if not more than getting an original score made. To his credit, it definitely lends to Homecoming's distinct sound.
 
The second season got an original score though. I like it, though I heard the season itself isn't much good.
 
 
Richter didn't do the score. At least he'd have more of a personality than that. The score is credited to both Glass and Paul Leonard-Morgan. Though my impression is that both of them had a few sessions together, Glass played a few of his all-too-familiar riffs and Leonard-Morgan extrapolated and arranged that around into the full score. It's all terribly empty.

There has been some very good tv music the past year or two.
BABYLON BERLIN was excellent and original. WESTWORLD channeled Vangelis without being parody.
As previously mentioned PKD had various, well composed eps.
The best thing about The new season of HOMECOM8NG was the ORIGINAL score
