  1. I am so excited to hear John Williams' score for the upcoming film 'The Adventures of Tin Tin' What do you guys think we can expect from him this time round? Another classic John Williams main theme that will go down in history with the rest? Maybe even a fresh sound?
  2. Recently I have started to compose more but I am also 'throwing more out' so to speak. I am finding that I can't produce the goods at the moment. If there are any other composers out there, if you have ever had a kind of writers block, what are your methods for overcoming it? Lewis
  3. Portamento is simply notated with a line between the notes (like a glissando), usually with the abbreviation 'port.' written across the line.
  4. All composers have their own feeling about them. The person who stands out for me is always Danny Elfman! His scores are so unique to him. The main reason behind this would be harmony and the chord changes he uses, his music for instance is not hugely melody driven and you can always always tell his scores
  5. It is probably intentional, Williams would know that it was Stravinsky-like. A lot of his work is like other composers, but we are not to judge because we will never know if he was asked by the director to reproduce the music in some way or form?
