  1. The reason there's no choir on this Star Trek album is because Giacchino produced it with the intent for the fans to sing along to it. He wants you guys to provide your own choir for the cues. Sing along songs! It's a lot of fun singing by yourself, BUT, the more, the merrier! Get your family and relatives singing, too!
  2. I've been buying far too many for my own financial good. Need to rip both my Predator and Capricorn One CDs to my computer and then sell them off to make up for that.
  3. I got these four CDs in the mail on Monday, from La-La Land and Kritzerland: http://basil.kg13.com/CDs/32.JPG
  4. Ordered both Speed 2 and The Edge. I quite like this new Caribbean Cruise sample. The added saxophone... wow!
  5. The Punisher (Carlo Siliotto) - La-La Land That Championship Season (Bill Conti) - La-La Land
  6. Just came back from seeing Iron Man 2 at the theater. It's good, but not as good as the original. I give the original an 8/10, and the sequel either a 6 or 7 out of 10.
  7. The Last House on the Left (John Murphy) - La-La Land
  8. The American Federation of Musicians has nothing to do with choir. Choir is an entirely separate entity from the AFM altogether. I believe scores that utilize both the AFM as well as choir list their members under separate sections, either printed inside the booklet or on the inside of the back cover - at least, both Ice Age: The Meltdown and X-Men: The Last Stand has everything laid out that way. It could also explain why scores such as Intrada's recent release of Jack the Giant Killer are missing some of the choral overlays, because the choir sections are recorded separately from the orchestra (but in that case, it wasn't an issue of not being able to pay the choir organization, but because those separate takes were missing).
  9. Watched Iron Man last night. Second time for me - first time was at the theater, last night was at home with a DVD. Might be seeing Iron Man 2 at the theater this weekend. Very enjoyable movie overall.
  10. Roger Feigelson posted: I guess I was wrong after all. My apologies. On the other hand, my wallet needs a much-deserved rest!
  11. That's all it is though, just an implication, not actual confirmation that it isn't happening. It looks like that's what all the fans are saying, anyhow. Regardless, if there are any June 22nd titles, that's great. If not, that's also great. My wallet could use a break.
  12. Where does Roger specifically say they aren't doing any June 22nd releases? He might be pulling our leg for all we know. Would he really post a "Clues for June 22nd" thread if he was joking?
  13. Hitman 2: Silent Assassin (Jesper Kyd) - La-La Land - Disc 2 This sounds MUCH better than that awful first disc... probably because I'm more into orchestral music.
  14. Hitman: Codename 47 (Jesper Kyd) - La-La Land - Disc 1
  15. Mine was shipped out about two hours ago. Whee!
  16. They've been doing this for all of their Varese Club announcements, though - announcing it a week or two before it actually begins shipping. I mean, on top of having to wait two weeks to receive mail from California, I'm pretty used to it by now.
  17. They won't start shipping until Monday, June 14th. And now that Varese has 3000 of them to send off, it could take a long time to process all of the orders. Great for me, in any case, as I've got too much on the credit card bill as it is.
  18. Capricorn One (Jerry Goldsmith) - Intrada Predator (Alan Silvestri) - Varese Club - my very first time hearing this
  19. Because I'm stupid. Actually, just so I'm not re-typing everything all over again, I'll copy + paste my responses at FSM:
  20. I started taking photos of everything that I've been buying since the beginning of May. You may view them here: http://basil.kg13.com/CDs/ (photos 16 - 22 are all from the same shipment, I just decided to be weird with my camera that day. )
  21. The album for Die Hard: With a Vengeance was also released by BMG/RCA, and the film is 20th Century Fox.
  22. Pretty damn good! The big themes come in mostly during exterior shots of the ship, though I can see how it's botched up in the film - during the scene where the ship is heading towards the huge oil tanker, the exact same 7-note motif comes in maybe half a dozen times, all for exterior shots of both ships closing in on each other. The underscore is mostly subdued and barely audible for scenes inside the ship. The Caribbean holiday-style music is definitely there, especially at the head and tail ends of the film. I think I'd definitely be more pleased to hear Mancina's album-style presentation on disc as opposed to his cues as edited and heard in the movie. I'm almost hoping that TK's remix of the Speed theme (heard in the end credits of the movie) will be on the La-La Land album, since Mancina is credited as having written the piece, but if not, it's on the existing various artists soundtrack anyway. Just about every song on the VA album is present in the movie somewhere, either as background source music played on radios, or performed by singers/artists aboard the cruise liner. I think I prefer this score more than the original Speed, and is probably my favorite of Mancina's scores, just because it has such a holiday/vacation-like vibe to it.
