  1. A while agon La-La Land announced that they had closed a deal with Sony Special Products to release several titles. Part of the deal is that all these releases have 3500 copies. The Edge is one of the titles which is part of the deal. Not necessarily. Independence Day is also Sony Special Products and that was limited to 5000 copies. I believe La-La Land sets the number of copies to be pressed based on what they believe demand for those soundtracks will be.
  2. I sat down and watched Speed 2: Cruise Control again last night, in anticipation for La-La Land's score release next Tuesday. I don't think it's as bad of a movie as some people make it out to be - the second half is a bit ridiculous, yes, but the first half of the movie is very good. Willem Dafoe's performance is outstanding. Maybe I'll give it more of an in-depth review later on.
  3. Just about every day I find myself listening to "Riddle of Steel / Riders of Doom" from Conan the Barbarian. More specifically, 2:12 - 2:35 and 3:13 - 3:28. But the cue as a whole is great.
  4. Do you have the releases from the regular TV series Basil? I really enjoy those even though it's all synth, but never got into the PK Wars score. It's like he's trying too hard to sound big. I don't own any of those, unfortunately. I do own a movie on VHS that Guy Gross also scored, called "Frauds". I kind of wanted its soundtrack for a long time, but it's a bit difficult to track down at a decent price (it was manufactured by some Australian record label... 1M1, I think?).
  5. Listened to 2 CDs, and I'm on my 3rd for today as I type this. Independence Day (David Arnold) - La-La Land - Disc 2 (I heard Disc 1 a couple of days ago. Great stuff!) The Haunted Palace / The Premature Burial (Ronald Stein) - Percepto FarScape: The Peacekeeper Wars (Guy Gross) - La-La Land
  6. How about some cool La-La Land monkey artwork? (they're not mine)
  7. I just died and went to heaven. SPEED 2! YES!!! One more holy grail crossed off the list, right after Brave Little Toaster. Never seen or heard the music for The Edge, but I'll buy that one up as well.
  8. Saw The Invention of Lying two days ago. It was okay, but not something I'd put on again anytime soon.
  9. Just about the entire score is up on YouTube, but here's three tracks you can check out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SMfLFIgx4g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKNyXyAOX2w http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcJvAdRU244 Speed 2 is one of my few holy grails, and I'll be VERY excited if this is announced tomorrow.
  10. I ordered Mr. Atlas and Cloak and Dagger tonight, as well as Henry Mancini's Silver Streak. Track 22 on Mr. Atlas is amazing, and Silver Streak sounded like good ol' Mancini, much in the style of Great Mouse Detective IMO. Once that clue about the 80s Universal title was posted, I figured it would be Cloak and Dagger. It's a title that I knew was a holy grail of Roger Feigelson's for quite some time.
