Said it in the other thread already.... I bloody hope so! I'm really enjoying his new score. It's different to what I expected, and yet so familiar.

I don't think Rian Johnson would dare not to ask Williams. Who wants to make a Star Wars film without John Williams? Where's fun in that?

I love Williams in "NaziTheme" - "Meet the Press" - Fugal Mode - I cannot understand a bit how poeple can call it weak. I think it does what it's supposed to do very well: being a sort of revoltuionary, militaristic protest march! Daam da dadada...
I PERSONALLY prefer it to for example... Battle of the Heroes..AND to almost EVERYTHING from Indy 4.. just my two cenrts

I think Godzilla achieved this too, to some extent, despite the Absynth, Massive and Aura synth prelays.

I just saw the film and here is my lengthy, deep analysis:
The music was fucking AMAZING!!!

So far, the Rebel Fanfare popping up seems awkward, not organically integrated.
Haven't heard a strong new theme yet at all....

We've pretty much heard it.

reading all these comments about less thematic, mostly rhythmic-motivic music, individual stand-out moments and less development etc. i think comes in total agreement with what Williams' music has become the last years..

I saw this thread and instantly remembered this photo.

Wondered when this news would break. It's such a beautiful gesture. There's no reason why anyone should be bothered by it unless you are a truly selfish and deluded person.

His voice has certainly improved since that comic-con clip. ☺
