Bellosh got a reaction from SteveMc in "Hymn to the Fallen" performance (November 10, 2019; Washington National Cathedral)
Thanks for posting.
To this day, my favorite pieces JW has ever performed live, was back in 2014 at the Boston Symphony was a back to back performance of Hymn to the Fallen and Dry Your Tears Afrika.
It was jaw dropping.

Bellosh reacted to ins in WAR HORSE - 2019 Recording Session Leak
I'd forgotten what a real treat this score is, and now all my personal highlights in small contained cues. Very nice!

Bellosh reacted to Sweeping Strings in What Is The Last Score You Listened To? (older scores)
Stirs the blood, as does the movie ... still my favourite version of the Robin legend. I can even forgive Costner's utter lack of an attempt at an English accent.

Bellosh reacted to Trumpeteer in New Podcast! The Baton: A John Williams Musical Journey
The "Star Wars" episode of my podcast has arrived, and it's a big one! I had the privilege of talking with Sir Clive Gillinson, who played cello on the score with the London Symphony Orchestra in 1977. He looks back on his memories of working with John Williams and seeing the film with music for the first time.
I also take time to discuss the main theme and other music in the film. Chris Hatt returns to join me in that discussion.
Another former guest co-host, Brian Martell, relives his memory of seeing Star Wars in the theater and being captivated by the music.
It's an episode I have been excited to bring you since this podcast started, and I hope you enjoy it!

Bellosh reacted to Biodome in What track do you find yourself listening to on repeat the most?
When new OST albums are released, I often listen to certain tracks anywhere from 5 to 20 times on repeat. I remember that being the case with The Force Awakens, and The Last Jedi. Most of the character themes get me hooked, as well as the End Titles, as they play around with those themes in really pleasing ways. Once the track ends, I play it again, and again, and again, until I am satisfied.
In general, any new musical discoveries that I like, may very well end up in me listening to those bits on repeat for the remainder of the day. I watch a lot of movies at the cinematheque in Oslo pretty much daily, and I do find plenty of cool musical moments, which I want to re-experience again. The most recent such piece was Thème de Camille by Georges Delerue. Easily listened to that theme alone for like half an hour or so.
It may be an extreme way to listen to music, I don't know. But what can you do if you really love a theme It's like chocolate. Can't stop.

Bellosh reacted to Oomoog the Ecstatic in What track do you find yourself listening to on repeat the most?
Just the Helicopter part of Jurassic Park. Probably the most epic thing Williams has written--a notch higher than the SW Main Theme in both epicness and orchestration.
I've repeated numerous other Williams moments over and over again, but none as much as this.
For different movies, my most-repeated moments:
Hook: 2:40-3:25 in Main Themes, so much phenomenal orchestration
Star Wars V: The Yoda's Theme part of the End Credits track
Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban: The gliding over the water part in Buckbeak's Flight, 0:50-1:20
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: The first big crescendo beginning of Reunion of Friends
E.T The Extra-Terrestrial: A few great moments, too lazy to list...

Bellosh reacted to Edmilson in The mystery of the Quidditch scene on Chamber of Secrets - Here's my theory!
But I do have a life. I have a great job, great friends, a family, a cat and a dog... And I also like to discuss Williams, movie scores and the parts of it that are obscure to me - that was the reason why I joined here.
