  1. Yeah most of the other films have FYC score sections on the website.
  2. Have there been any physical Disney FYCs on eBay this year at all? Maybe they've changed their strategy...
  3. We clearly listened to a different score because The Last Jedi does not reflect this post at all. The score is even more energetic and orchestrationally dense than The Force Awakens, which he wrote two years ago. It's brimming with life in a way that other composers simply cannot match, because they just don't have the depth of understanding Williams has for the orchestra. This score feels right at home with almost anything he was writing in the early 2000s. Frankly I find your post borderline insulting and ageist, as if lecturing Williams that he's too old to be writing certain types of film scores. He can score whatever the hell he likes, his age is completely irrelevant if he still has the passion and love for writing these scores (and one need only listen to the score to realise he does). If he was so exhausted doing these movies then he wouldn't be doing them, simple as that!
  4. Yeah, The Post, War of the Worlds and a few others. Usually it's when Spielberg has these compressed schedules.
  5. I wouldn't be surprised if Williams even recommended Gia for Jurassic World. There was some form of meeting between Trevorrow and Williams but we don't know what about.
  6. Well, that settles that. He did listen to Rogue One. I will say, the use of timpani in TLJ's score (which is vastly improved on its usage in TFA) almost felt like a bit of a schooling from JW.
  7. Didn't Haab have that interesting anecdote about Williams having a two week sign off period for any Star Wars related music made by other composers, should he wish to exercise it? And that this has to be factored into their approval schedule? So presumably he's heard parts of Gia's Rogue One. The use of choir at the end reminded me a lot of how Gia used it in R1.
  8. He was also probably uncomfortable with someone filling his shoes and doing it wrong.
  9. TFA had what, 800+ takes? That's a shitload of revisions and unreleased music, likely well over the purported figure.
  10. So we have at least two alternates, an unused new Main Title, plus music from deleted scenes. I can't wait for the Matessino expansion in 2037!
  11. Exactly, Williams probably scored the scene 5 different ways then JJ chose the most unobtrusive version.
  12. Fortunately I think if there's only two additions we're guaranteed to have on the FYC, it would be Escape and Battle of Crait without all the edits; two setpiece tracks they wouldn't exclude, and they can't edit those moments like they did for the OST.
  13. Maybe it'll be like the BFG FYC and we'll never get it, despite being out there in the ether.
  14. Forgive me for not going and searching for it, but is that the same runtime as the FYC? Do the track times line up?
  15. I'm pretty sure he negotiated that before signing on? He held off and got a pretty good deal because he knew they wanted him badly.
  16. I need to make my jokes more obvious next time! If you get the chance, could you please ask Joe if he knows why they re-used the TFA recording of Main Title when the director himself was under the impression they were using the newly recorded TLJ version (which is MIA)? Is this a music editing mistake that slipped through the cracks?
  17. At least he was mindful of not repeating too much music from the OST proper for the credits. This is hardly a Mischief Managed situation. And we got the cue that most people were clamoring for in the OST proper (Holdo).
  18. I think it'll get confusing having a theme named the same as the movie. We've avoided that convention for every movie up until this point, haven't we? For good reason too, considering it would confuse with track titles that use the film's title but are composed of other themes (Return of the Jedi, Revenge of the Sith, The Last Jedi).
  19. Is there anything in the film credits that isn't on the OST, credits track or otherwise?
