I do love the score, but the main theme is easily my least favorite. But I find the Two Socks theme to be absolutely enchanting. And the Pawnee material is quite striking

Oh yes, very Baleen Whale like. And does bring out the eye parallel

The use of Pink Floyd might be a nod to Jodorowsky's Dune, where they were set to do part of the score

I really can't quite put my finger on it, but this shot really haunted me:

A Little Night Music might still be my favorite Sondheim musical, although I admit some of his other works are essentially superior

This seems like a silly way to tackle the problem. The awards might be a symptom or a consequence of the problem, never its cause. If you want to tackle it, start by providing equal opportunity in education and getting projects off the ground. The awards will (at least in theory), follow where the quality is. You don't do it the other way around, that solves absolutely nothing and might actually create a new form or resentment and backlash

Am I the only one that always thought the percussion driven beggining of the Lost World Theme was an homage to the Overture from Lawrence of Arabia?

If the movie ends where I think it will, it's satisfying dramatically, but I wouldn't call it a cliffhanger
I think the trailer might've overplayed the Young Adult Chosen One that leads a revolution trope. The story is much much more than that and with much less generic contours

Not a fan of the use of Pink Floyd there (does every trailer nowadays need to use an edgy cover of an old song?), but the visuals and the cast look absolutely spot on. I'm a bit concerned they might've changed the word Jihad from the book into Crusade, though

I felt the same way but have been accosted for such sacrilegious talk from the Nolanites. Apparently it's one of the best sequences ever shot...

The problem with it it is that there isn't much choreography to it, unlike Nolan's best (think TDKR opening). And I guess some of that comes to play in the inverted reprise of it, which must have been impressive enough to shoot, but visually still doesn't ring very well.

Lol the way it jumped from the Mumbai sequence, to the painting theft to plutonium talk...I was like "are we still looking into those magical inverted bullets?".

I really like this album as listening experience, regardless of what music is missing. The most obvious I'd change in the algum presentation would be moving Steel Drum to the end of the album as an bonus track

Escape from Monkey Island really suffers from the interface (it was cumbersome in Grim Fandango, but you got used to it) combined with the graphic style (GF was designed to work well with the then limited 3D capabilities, with the calaca characters and everything, while the Monkey series' designs were really rather brutally squeezed into the GrimE engine and style) - and from simply not being very funny much of the time, as far as I remember (though I do have fond memories of a few moments). It's the only one from the original series I've only played once (yet the only one of which I own an original copy, actually) - I've played 1-3 numerous times and know large stretches of them by heart. The Telltale episodic game finally made the 3D thing work - the designs still were serviceable at best, but after a somewhat uneven start the story and humour kicked in and the whole affair felt like a proper Monkey game.

Did you ever finish it? It would be a shame if you never got to see the ending.

Yes, it was part of one of the medium backer levels (I chose the backer level with the physical box). You can call the number, too - sadly, I spent too much time trying to come up with some witty voice message and ended up deciding that all my ideas were too stupid, so it's really just a plain regular voice message.

I just re-played it recently with the "Ransome Unbleeped" extension. Tried to get as many Steam achievements as possible this time. I even spent HOURS getting the highscores in all three arcade games, and that didn't even give me an achievement.

And: Terrible Toybox, Ron Gilbert's Company behind this game, is gearing up and hiring people for a new adventure game project. No further news yet as far as I'm aware, but several of the same people seem to be on board besides Gilbert. And the other good news for me is that Gilbert has recently switched from Apple to Linux as his development platform, which means that I can expect to be able to play the thing when it's released. Unlike Thimbleweed Park itself, its recent mini-sequel (done as an engine demo with assets from the original game) was released only for Windows and Apple systems.

The other point & click adventure I'm looking forward to is this:
I was sold when I saw the trailer with David Attenborough style narration.

(The board autoconverts the Kickstarter link to a video... here's the plain link).
