Jim Ware reacted to Jay in The Music Of The Hobbit Films - Doug Adams' Book confirmed by Howard Shore
I have shared many beers (and wine.. and port...) with Jim (and Doug!) and can confirm it is quite enjoyable

Jim Ware reacted to SUH in The Music Of The Hobbit Films - Doug Adams' Book confirmed by Howard Shore
Am really enjoying watching this! Although the first time Justin's mic wasn't working, I thought it was just a really long uncomfortable silence where everyone was waiting for someone else to speak which was painful .
It's a joy to see Jim for the first time, and you come across great here, with thoughtful and considered responses.
Would be a thrill to have a beer with the both of you some day!

This was fun! It's great to finally lift the lid on some of the Hobbit material.

Jim Ware reacted to bollemanneke in A discussion on Philip Glass...
All the Glass music I'vee heard is the most boring crap I've heard in my entire life.

Please, no expanded/C&C/"Deluxe" (sic.) releases!
Crossing fingers and toes for a premiere release of something, preferably a score and composer I connect to.

It sounds awesome. Throw the Prometheus release in the bin.

Jim Ware got a reaction from Yavar Moradi in The Swarm by Jerry Goldsmith finally coming from La-La Land!
I had a chat with the venerable Neil S. Bulk about this - the mix on the Prometheus release was incorrect, with right and centre channels flopped.

A fun conversation between Shore and Denardo Coleman here - http://www.howardshore.com/behind-the-scenes-the-music-of-naked-lunch/

Jim Ware reacted to Corellian2019 in Naked Lunch Soundtrack
Well, I wouldn't say that he "wrote" any tracks, he just performed the solo saxophone; however, the sax is an integral part of the score. And what a virtuoso performance. From memory, the tracks that feature Coleman are "Naked Lunch", "Hauser and O'Brien/Bugpowder", "Simpatico/Misterioso", "Interzone Suite", "Intersong", "Mujahaddin", "Ballad/Joan", "Cloquet's Parrots/Midnight Sunrise", and "Welcome To Annexia".

Jim Ware reacted to Doug Adams in Howard Shore's King Kong
Sometimes these things don’t involve fault or blame. The term “creative differences” has sort of become a parody of itself, but it’s not always inaccurate. Sometimes creative parties begin on one path, then divert to others. It happens ... I mean, that’s kind of the ephemeral nature of creativity. And there are times when those creative diversions make it impossible to continue things as planned. And something has to give.
I know that’s lamentably anticlimactic. It’s easier to process these things where there’s some cataclysmic event to pin everything on. At least, that’s what I kept telling myself when I was 24 hours away from hopping a flight to New Zealand to attend the recording sessions, and everything fell apart. (I didn’t have any trip insurance.)
You’d be out a million quid.
The principal themes — which were sort of cantilenas set for 12 cellos and soprano — were, in my opinion, some of the best lyrical work Shore has ever done.

The ordering has been juggled around a bit over the years, but the best piece is missing in my opinion.

Jim Ware got a reaction from Jurassic Shark in The music for the movies of Martin Scorsese
Yes! Makes for an excellent recessional. Thankfully no-one was inspired to commit seppuku.

I can't argue with that one - I used it at my wedding!

Cool! Which cue? Runaway Horses is my favorite, but perhaps not quite suitable for the occasion!

That might be, but as a separate listening experience, Mishima is a superior score.

Kundun is my favorite Glass score. Wonderful album assembly too
