Not Mr. Big reacted to Muad'Dib in Steven Spielberg will be making a UFO movie based on an original idea with a David Koepp script
I think the reason Spielberg keeps returning to Koepp is that he's an efficient and quick writer -and they seem to get along quite well. I'm not sure Spielberg's had any other long-term relationship with a writer... Tony Kushner comes to mind, but that's been more sporadic and started in the mid-2000's or so.

I don't think Spielberg's looking for a presitigous writer with Koepp. Of course he's very prolific, so he could be considered prestigious in some other way; but I'm guessing that he's easy to work with, he writes fast and is someone Spielberg knows how he works.

All that said, the project sounds intriguing and potentially could be a lot of fun. Here's hoping Steven tries something in that scary vibe it was quoted above.

John Williams made them as a joke to throw off JWfans.  Now every JW expansion is gonna have fake songs based on the score's themes

Stepmom doesn't need an expansion.  OST is already perfect

Agreed. Very autumny. Even if HowardL over on FSM somehow gets winter out of it. Either way, I adore this score. And the existing presentation is perfect as-is.

I visit here for this sort of quality content.

There is one bit of unreleased music from Stepmom which really struck me when I saw the film many years ago.  I swear that Williams briefly references the theme from The Towering Inferno in a shot when the camera pans over the World Trade Center.  The film was released in 1998.

I finally got around to find the time to check my Evening at Pops video archive, and this arrangement opens the show, even though the first half of it is buried under Sleepers' director Barry Levinson introduction that is followed by a short dialogue between him and Williams right at the Sony Scoring Stage talking about his experience with Adolph Deutsch and spoting Billy Wilder at the scoring sessions. Williams does refer to the tune as "By the sea". Then video cuts to the actual performance and the music takes central stage.
The title that shows up reads: By the Beautiful Sea: A Tribute to Billy Wilder, arr. John Williams.
The arrangement is mostly in the same vein as Hooray for Hollywood, as pointed before, and another tunes to seem to try to creep in (again in Hooray's fashion) including Jaws on the low woodwinds (again as mentioned earlier).

It would be wonderful that in a future survey of Williams work with the Pops, they would record the numerous arrangements he wrote during his tenure. A few of them were recorded for the televised Evening at Pops concerts, but not readily available to everyone to enjoy.

Gonna go with my two favorites:

Crystal Skull trailer #2.  the syncing of the 'rocket sled timer' with that fanfare part of the Raiders March, still get chills to this day.  the hype for that movie back then was palpable.

and of course, War Horse.  i will still tear up to that theme

    War Horse crushes me, man
