Not Mr. Big reacted to Cerebral Cortex in John Williams JVC ad
Seriously, Will? I can't tell if you're messing with me or not. You don't remember Williams being forced to do that promotional BFG tie-in ad for Subway last year?

Not Mr. Big reacted to Disco Stu in Avatar 2, 3 and 4 or how James Cameron stopped worrying and pulled The Hobbit on us
Lucas is not a pedestrian screen writer he's a flaming, horrendous car wreck of a screenwriter.

Not Mr. Big reacted to Quintus in What Is The Last Score You Listened To? (older scores)
'Stay' from Interstellar, based on a recommendation from my friend Stefancos. Utterly, utterly stunning really. Quintessential Zimmer in ever sense. This is going to sound slightly over the top, but after playing it quite loud just now over my sound system, it was almost transcendental. Wow!

Not Mr. Big reacted to Disco Stu in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (James Mangold, June 30 2023)
I'm blindly allowing myself to hope it's because they're getting rid of Koepp and starting over on the script. Make my fantasy reality, Steven.

Not Mr. Big got a reaction from Quintus in Avatar 2, 3 and 4 or how James Cameron stopped worrying and pulled The Hobbit on us
Hans Zimmer would be perfect for the Avatar sequels. I can see it appealing to both his modern experimental side and a throwback to his more orchestral 90's style (The Lion King, The Prince of Egypt, Cool Runnings).
There was a bit of Zimmer in Horner's Avatar to begin with so the change in style wouldn't be too drastic.

Johnny's made it. He's really made it

Listening to Interstellar. Hans Zimmer should score the Avatar sequels! His style feels just right for Cameron. And he would challenge Hans, who has become a bit lazy!
TGP! You agree?

Not Mr. Big reacted to nightscape94 in John Williams to Score Kobe Bryant short film "Dear Basketball"
So I've been listening to this a lot. It truly is a wonderfully constructed piece of music that accomplishes quite a bit in roughly 3.5 minutes, complete with tailor-made built-in countdown to a Williams climax. To Kobe's credit, he seems to have inspired some nice artistry with his collaborators.
Really hoping this gets a release because it contains that Williams magic.

Not Mr. Big reacted to Disco Stu in A.I. Artificial Intelligence VS. Minority Report
A.I. is fascinating to me mostly as a Spielberg-as-auteur obsessive. I would never in a million years call it the best film of the century so far.

Not Mr. Big got a reaction from crumbs in So Indy 5 will be released in 2019. Do we really want it?
I have a feeling that Williams' Indy V will be an improvement over the last, a major improvement even (especially if this is the sentimental send-off that I'm expecting/hoping for).

Not Mr. Big got a reaction from bollemanneke in What do you think about group scoring?
I do think that some people (mostly the reddit type) tend to overestimate the benefits of grouping two well-established composers. For example, in no world would a John Williams/Hans Zimmer penned score work, nor would a Howard Shore/Michael Giacchino Star Wars score (an actual suggestion somebody made).

It has its perks, but you're leaving yourself open to STDs.

Not Mr. Big reacted to Unlucky Bastard in Star Wars ORIGINAL UNALTERED trilogy possibility(?) in HD!
- outdated CGI for almost everything they replaced
- unnecessarily added scenes that are redundant and interfere with pacing
- Vader's "NOOOOO!"
- scenes everywhere slightly reframed or cropped, not to mention Lucas' annoying habit of that slow zoom in
- dialogue changes here and there
- Emperor replaced in ESB. Before it was creepy, now it's cheesy
- new Ewok eyes are garish
- Jedi Rocks (are they actually singing about Jedi?)
- Victory Celebration sucks and the whole scene was re-edited for some reason - yuck!
- etc.
Why does everything else get an "archival" release that's accurate to the original theatrical exhibition but SW is taboo?

Not Mr. Big reacted to Disco Stu in Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (Rian Johnson 2017)
This is why the CinemaSins approach is useless and a waste of time. You can pick apart any story ever told in this way.

These demands by the usual offenders for the immediate release of this score are typical detached from reality JWFan entitlement. I hope it never gets released, just to punish these people.

Indiana Jones is one of those franchises where, good or bad, I'll take as much as I can get as long as Ford, Spielberg, and Williams are collectively behind the wheel.
Spielberg seems aware of how the audience generally felt about KOTCS and has been humbled a bit with recent films like The BFG. For the first time in a long time, Spielberg has something to prove, and that alone is reason for some excitement.
