  1. This is amazing. I'm still hoping for a CD from Intrada or someone someday but this is a terrific surprise. Too bad I'm on vacation with a horrible Internet connection and will have to wait until I get home. Can't wait!
  2. Here's a screenshot of a bunch of the slates Giacchino posted if anyone's interested: https://twitter.com/m_giacchino/status/312728976877580288/photo/1
  3. What is that arrangement? Is it available anywhere other than YouTube?
  4. Does anyone still doubt this will be The Dark Kryptonian Rises? That's exactly what I expect. I hope I'm wrong.
  5. Hook - LLL Edition Wow. I forgot how much I loved this score. It has the double benefit of being not only beautiful but also incredibly nostalgic to me personally. We can't have iPods where I work nor any digital music files on our computers but today I brought this disc to work. So glad I did. It has it all - it's majestic, beautiful, bittersweet, joyful, adventurous - it's simply wonderful. The film may be hit-and-miss but the score is almost perfect in every possible way to my ears.
  6. Jurassic Park is a wonderful marriage or CGI and traditional visual effects. Has technology evolved? Sure, but it still looks great to me and I desperately wish more filmmakers would use traditional wherever possible and use CGI only when traditional effects are not possible. I think there's been a stifling of innovation in traditional effects. "I'm not sure how to pull that off." "Don't worry about it. We'll just do it with CGI." I still love Jurassic Park for how well it combines the two.
  7. We can agree on that one. If be very pleased to see it get the deluxe treatment.
  8. Dave is a terriffc romantic comedy score. I'd pick it up for sure.
  9. Not Joe, but it is absolutely stunning...one of the Crown Jewels of my collection for sure. I can't recommend it highly enough.
  10. Haha! I've kind of felt the same - that this film will take that approach. The trailer "look" interesting but didn't leave me any more excited to see it. I've been obsessed with Superman since I was old enough to recognize him. While I see Superman as the "overgrown Boy Scout" who does the right thing simply because it is the right thing and because he can, I'm willing to give this a chance.
  11. I will definitely see this because I'm a Trek fan. Having said that, neither the poster not synopsis makes me even the slightest bit more interested.
  12. It's also that the Home Alone scores are Christmas themed, which for many only provide listening a month or so a year. I'm a fanatic of Williams and Christmas material and his Home Alone scores are among my favorite so I'm all I've this, even though I've got the Varese release. I'll be getting Star Trek, Home Alone 2 and Die Hard 3.
  13. I really hope one of them is Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves! I hope somebody does that one!!
  14. FYI - My local Best buy had like twenty copies of the ET digibook and 6 copies of the Jaws digibook. The guy in the store said they got them this week. If your wanting those digibooks and missed out on release week (like me), it might be worth checking again.
  15. I've seen Superman more than any other film. The updates sounds drive me nuts. I always watch with the original mix.
  16. There's a guy who used to frequent hometheaterforum.com who wrote a great thesis or something that he posted and it basically said that Roy Neary was essentially a Pinocchio type figure in the film. Something happened and he deleted all his posts but it was great. I will see if I can get in touch with him and see if he still has it.
