  1. Agreed, Id love another Powell action score right now, although his animated scores are still great. Is he doing the new Bourne film? (even though I was never particularly fond of his Bourne scores).
  2. Indeed, I'm quite surprised that Powell didn't get the job as he's basically become the head composer of DreamWorks Animation.
  3. This is quite sad news. May you R.I.P. Whitney, you'll be missed...
  4. Woah...do you mean to say in all this time, JWFan has never had an official Goldsmith tread?! That's a lot to take in...I might need a minute....
  5. The last book was very disappointing, but i did find the first two entertaining. Still the movie is going to be a fluke though.
  6. I am a huge lover of books and reading is essentially all you'll me doing in my spare my time. However, I confess I have never read a John Grisham book...its quite unfortunate because I've always wanted to. Anyone have any idea which Grisham novel I should start with?
  7. Happy Birthday Goldsmith! If only you were still here to grace us with your magic!
  8. Barin Catharad! Get it right Faleel! I'm not trying to make comparisons between Shore's work and Rosenman's work because they're two different films, but it really is hard to take Rosenman's score seriously. The main theme was so annoying in its persistance during the film. And the Mordor chanting is pretty darn funny if you ask me As for Goldsmtih, his action music is freakin awesome in its prime. One of my favourite Goldsmith scores, The Wind and the Lion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFORF8iSnsY
  9. What's wrong with that? I don't think you quite grasp what "atonal" means. I understand what atonal means. And I was never saying atonal was a bad thing. When done right, you have some great material, like Penderecki's work or even Williams score for Close Encounters with the Third Kind. But the majority of listeners tend to dislike atonal music, and while Williams modern action sometimes appears to be so, it never is. A lot of people find atonal music unenjoyable, but if they consider Williams' modern action atonal (which its not), then it sure as hell is very entertaining "atonal" music. God, those Mordor chants always crack me up! Sometimes Rosenman's LOTR score has its moments, but its usually hard for me to take that score seriously (especially with the really childish main theme).
  10. That's Stannis?! Wow...nothing like what I imagined him to be. Melisandre, as Incanus pointed out, doesn't quite fit my imagination either (to me, she always seemed like a beautiful and manipulatively approachable woman with certain air of class and refinement to her).
  11. I have underestimated you Brother Stefan...only some time ago, I thought you weak for thine lack of rage at Roald's foul sins...but thou hast proven yourself most worthy of the role of the Inquisitor. Thou will truly make a worthy Grand Inquisitor...a man who shall do a fine job cleansing our Church of the evil. To speed up the election process, I shall nominate Brother indy4. Also, the Grey Pilgrim is not a figure to be doubted...
  12. Your clock is ticking Roald. Zimmerthul shall fall, and thou shallt be punished. No longer shall thou mock us by placing the image of our Lord as your avatar and pushing your foul heresy in our sacred events...you shant be here for long.... Take this as a warning Brother Koray, a war is brewing, and soon thou shall find yourself in danger amidst the sides of war...There is no such thing as neutrality...
  13. Listening to Christopher Young's awesome score for Bless the Child. A haunting score that is truly impressive. Lux Aterna is freakin awesome!!!
  14. You sure bout that? Pirahna 3D has high 70s on RT, wouldn't call that worth watching
  15. The Borgias has its moments and Jeremy Irons is excellent (as always). But overall, I felt they lost a lot of potential with this show. I believe the Tudors was better than this. Theres something that Showtime tends to miss with its historical dramas. Camelot was really flawed in parts and I wouldn't watch it if it hadn't been for Eva Green's excellent performances. Even Ralph Fiennes was good, I just hated the guy who was casted for Arthur...urgh.
  16. And whose side are you on Brother? I fear I see darkness in you...prove me wrong
  17. Zimmer is not the real threat brother. The Angels have warned me not to fear in the face of these Zimmer clowns...but to prepare for the coming tide of Reznor's folk. Dangerous are they, and his heathen followers have already settled in our church. Or so my vision has told me... Shalt thou nominate another Brother Stefan?
  18. Indeed. I noticed it quite a while ago, Williams is one clever son of a gun. They don't just build a church for anybody you know
  19. I think Williams did a fantastic job with The Ferry Scene, haunting in its prime. Black Sunday is also a great, not well known score!
  20. You have decided your fate...there is no turning back now.
  21. Thou dare threaten me?! Fools! I shall bring down the heavens upon thine foolish cult!!! I am a prophet of the Angels of the Third Kind, and I shall bring forth the powers given by the Lord John himself burn you to hell of all melodies... Do not take me for some conjurer of cheap tricks you fool!!! There are worse things than Zimmer fans in the dark places of the world...I shall crush your Zimmer cult if need be, I have greater matters to attend to...a greater threat! I give you one last chance for redemption Roald...take it, or burn. Sing out the melodies of the Great Tunesmith in confession, or hear the wrath of his marches of doom...
  22. Well said! As you pointed out Blum, Williams was clearly very thorough in terms of orchestral colour and flair with Phantom Menace. Thus he worked hard on that regal flavour and such. And while he definitely took a different course for the remaining prequels, I believe they are great scores. Attack of the Clones is a brilliant score if you ask me.
  23. Brother Stefan, how can you ask me to remain idle while this atrocious heresy takes place before thine own eyes! He practices Devil Worship!!! That foul creature dares threaten us with the invasion of his satanic cult... Burn him I say, burn him...so declares the laws of our Church!
  24. I state simply what must be done was the Grand Inquisitor is enthroned, a deed that is dangerously taking longer than expected...
  25. If one nominates the other, then perhaps the specified one himself shall be nominated Although, the nominees must be pure in heart and mind for the evil in our Church must be relinquished. It matters not, faith shall guide us in Conclave to decide the right nominee when the time comes... Fear not Brothers, we shall find the way! Keep it going heathen and I'll get thy ass banned for life..! Devil worship seems to give strange powers to thee...a Grand Inquisitor must be found soon to rid the land of these withches! He must be burned on the pyre!
