Spleener got a reaction from _deleted_ in The Wishing John Williams a Speedy Recovery thread...
I was very lucky to have seen him twice in Boston with the BSO and Keith Lockhart 2016/17. I attended with my father who took me to all the Spielberg movies in the 70s, then took my son whom I had already brainwashed him with the Superman score! Feel genuinely bad for everyone waiting for the London and Vienna shows It will still sound amazing without him at the podium! Get well Johnny!

This never gets old... I first listened to this when I was twelve, about 25 years ago! And it still is mesmerising and mind-blowing.

He was obviously struck down by the horror of having JWFan gather so close around him.

Spleener got a reaction from Ricard in John Williams Film Night, Boston Symphony Hall, May 31 & June 1, 2017
He did pretty good considering he's six years old! Last year I brought the man who took me to Star Wars when I was 3, my father. This year I pass the torch to my son who literally hums JW while playing, as we all do!

He looks as lively and healthy as ever in those photos!
How was his conducting, energetic? Did he perform Scherzo For X-Wings at the faster concert tempo or slower OST pace?
EDIT:
It appears this concert will be available on-demand... in a month.

What a night! John is in good shape! I tried to get an autograph after the concert but it was too crowded.

Had to bail during March of the Resistance! 6 year old could not handle it! I give him credit for holding on that long! Lockhart selection awesome!! Hoping for a recording like last years!
Jwfan forever!

Hmmm, well, JW told all the same stories as he told last year only not as well this time, and about half the selections were the same exact pieces he played last year too. Certainly great for anyone not at last year's show, but a bit disappointing for me tbh.....aw
who am I kidding, it's always great to see the maestro at work!
When he told the story again about telling Kathleen Kennedy he didn't want anyone else writing music for Daisy, I thought he was going to announce he secretly scored Murder on the Orient Express!

First half of the concert, conducted by Keith Lockhart, was great! Good selections (a lot of what was on the recent CD) and good performances.
I haven't looked ahead to know what John is playing for his half of the concert, but I can't wait!

Bummer. Nothing on the WCRB page either. Hopefully they put up a recording soon.
