  1. Apart from having watched the film via the 40th anniversary Blu-Ray, I never owned the soundtrack to Fiddler On the Roof, as much as I love the film and the Maestro's work. I've always wanted to hear the entire score in addition to the film versions of the musical numbers. I've listened to some tracks from the 30th anniversary CD via Apple, but it left much to be desired. I've always stuck to the 40th anniversary Blu-Ray because it is the best presentation of the film (great remastered picture AND sound). However, I only just listened to the sample of Entr'acte, as I want to be surprised by the remastered sound for the entire score; the moment it started, I was blown away; this sounds miles better than the 30th anniversary CD. I am amazed at the clarity and dynamic punch of the orchestra presented just from the sample of Entr'acte. I cannot wait to hear the rest of the Maestro's phenomenal masterpiece of an adaptation from beginning to end. Also, my favorite musical number has always been If I Were a Rich Man. I cannot wait to hear how remastered that sounds.
  2. Surprised @p0llux did not post this here: This book just arrived and there were a few excerpts from John Williams, David Newman, and Gustavo Dudamel about their involvement with West Side Story. In addition to being Music Consultant AND writing liner notes for the CD, wouldn’t it have been funny if the Maestro was asked to guest conduct one of the pieces? I’m still happy the Maestro had some involvement in this adaptation. I look forward to seeing it.
  3. I'm getting that and the 2019 remaster of Abbey Road.
  4. Finished Part 3... The Beatles: Get Back is the most comprehensive, personal and in-depth look at The Beatles' final public performance and the recording sessions I've ever experienced. Credit is due to all involved in making this three-part documentary "come together." Very well done.
  5. As I'm sure everybody knows, this coming year will be a great milestone for the world's most famous film composer, Maestro John Williams. On February 8, the Maestro will be 90 years old. That is the topper. The Berlin Concert will be released in celebration of this milestone birthday; another album with Anne-Sophie Mutter will be released in the summer as part of the celebration. A 21-disc set containing the Philips Records albums of the Maestro conducting the Boston Pops will also be released. Plus, the Maestro himself will have several concerts in both the USA and Europe! In addition, several films in which the Maestro has done the scores will celebrate anniversaries. The Witches of Eastwick - 35th anniversary; Amistad - 25th anniversary; Seven Years In Tibet - 25th anniversary; Catch Me If You Can - 20th Anniversary; it is the perfect opportunity for remastered and expanded releases of some, if not ALL, of these scores as part of the celebration. It is confirmed that Amistad has been restored in 4K; the home video release is inevitable, so an expanded and remastered soundtrack release may be very likely. To the point, this coming year will see much in celebration of the life and genius of the legendary Maestro John Williams. The Maestro himself will of course keep himself very busy and active; an amazing feat at 90 years old. He looks good just as well! A great time to look forward to.
  6. YES! Having seen Part 1 and Part 2 already on Disney Plus, I can say this whole documentary has been an extraordinary thing to see and experience. For one thing, you really feel like you are there. I cannot wait to see the third and final part. I also know my late Dad is seeing this with me, God Rest his soul.
  7. "To Life!!!!!" I cannot wait to get this once it becomes available to purchase!
  8. Happy Thanksgiving! This poster for Spider-Man: No Way Home is by far the best one; this should be the definitive poster. I like that it has kind of a Drew Struzan inspired look to it. Spider-Man_No_Way_Home_JP_Poster.jp2

  10. https://www.deutschegrammophon.com/en/artists/john-williams/news/john-williams-conducts-the-berliner-philharmoniker-for-the-first-time-on-the-berlin-concert-264911 “Next year will also see the release of John Williams’ latest collaboration with star violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter, performing the world premiere recording of his Violin Concerto No. 2 with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The album will be released by Deutsche Grammophon in summer 2022 as part of the continuing celebrations surrounding the composer’s 90th birthday.”
  11. Well, I ordered the deluxe edition directly from DG. My Sony 4K Blu-Ray player was purchased brand new directly from Best Buy. I just want to make sure that the Blu-Ray is English by default and will play with no issue.
  12. I hope someone answers my question. Anyway, here is the description: A few months before his 90th birthday the legendary American film composer John Williams conducted the Berliner Philharmoniker for the first time! The Tagesspiegel summed up the event as simply “one of those great evenings”. Regardless of whether Star Wars, Harry Potter or Indiana Jones, the symphonic Hollywood sounds on the stage of the Berliner Philharmoniker thrilled the audience right from the start. The soundtracks of John Williams are among the most popular in the history of film and have received numerous prestigious awards, including five Oscars, five Emmys, four Golden Globes and twenty-five Grammys. The album “John Williams – The Berlin Concert” celebrates the iconic composer and captures the impressive energy of this unique concert played by one of the world’s greatest orchestras. Under Williams’ baton, the musicians bring exceptional tonal beauty and an edge-of-the-seat intensity to a thrilling selection of his scores. “John Williams doesn’t need the films, the films need him,” wrote Rolling Stone after the concert. The album presents cult themes from Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Superman, Indiana Jones, Star Wars and other milestones in film history. The recording is set for release on 4 February 2022, in time for the superstar composer’s 90th birthday just four days later. The limited Deluxe Edition is the only version that contains the unique concert experience on Blu-ray. Including a breathtaking Dolby Atmos surround sound mix for the perfect concert experience (available as video and audio-only version). This edition is presented with a high quality gold foil look on the cover. The album is also available as a limited 2 CD digipack, LP-set with 2 180g vinyls, download and stream. Shop exclusive there are two limited and numbered vinyl editions available: a LP-set with two golden 180g vinyls as well as a golden 7inch vinyl (that features the Superman March as well as Harry’s Wondrous World from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone). 13. This might be a dumb question, but I have to ask this. If I were to pre-order directly from DG, is the set going to be in English, i.e. the packaging, Blu-Ray, booklet? The reason I ask is because I am from Florida. Another part of my inquiry is as follows. If I were to order directly from DG, is the Blu-Ray region free? I just don’t want to wait until it is available to pre-order on Amazon.
  14. This is not up for pre-order on Amazon (US) yet? I want to get the deluxe edition two-disc Blu-Ray and two CD set.
  15. I absolutely love the packaging. I cannot wait to order this the moment it becomes available for pre-order on Amazon (USA).
  16. YES!!!! Though, I am hoping for the set to be 4K Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray and two CDs. Instant purchase the moment it is available for pre-order.
  17. I honestly don't agree with that observation. I always figured Peter Parker (Tom Holland) was the primary focus of Homecoming and Far from Home. The same goes with this.
  18. This looks to be a very fun and wild ride, with a hint of dread to it. Perhaps a major character may not get out of this alive? I look forward to seeing this opening night and opening weekend. Plus, I do believe Michael Giacchino will have great fun with the score.
