  1. I saw it Friday night. There was a preview for the IMAX release of Jaws prior to the start of E.T., which got me excited for September. Regarding E.T. in IMAX, this was the perfect way to celebrate the 40th anniversary; just like when Jurassic Park was remastered and re-released in theaters in 3D in 2013, Close Encounters of the Third Kind was remastered/restored and re-released in theaters in 2017 and Schindler’s List was remastered/restored in theaters in 2018. I have all these films on 4K Blu-ray when they were restored in 4K and have watched them many times over the years, but to see E.T. in IMAX was a phenomenal experience, one that sticks with you long after the credits end. Heck, I may go see it in IMAX again next Friday. Definitely looking forward to this:
  2. Bought my tickets! Second Tier, Front Row, AA 107 & AA 108! Perfect!
  3. This is going to be a bittersweet experience, but also very moving.

  5. I doubt it. D23 Expo this September on the other hand…we’ll see. That would be the best place for it.
  6. The fact of the T-Rex getting out of the paddock and later entering the visitor center was never in question. However, for anyone who is curious:
  7. Not to mention that the cue as composed and conducted syncs up perfectly with the film and fits the scene quite well. I understand why the section from the End Credits was tracked into that scene, though. Either way works perfect for me, though.
  8. That’s no digital skip/glitch. That’s just part of the recording. It’s just as it was performed and recorded. Here is an idea: just enjoy the music.
  9. I don’t here anything unusual at all; there is no glitch/skip. I listened to the same section on the 2016 set, and looked up the 20th anniversary OST and 1993 album to listen to the same section: nothing unusual there either. The only thing I noticed was the remastered sound.
  10. That’s odd, but that is not the case in my copy. Glad it is a very minor thing that is fixable for you, though. Sorry, but like I said, I don’t detect any flub. I think the whole reissue is perfect.
  11. I listened to the entire set. This reissue blows the entire score as it was presented in the original 2016 box set out of the water, which is saying something since, at the time, everyone thought that was the definitive release, both in remastered sound and expanded cues. This is the best the entire score has ever sounded. No more fade-in at the beginning of Entrance of Mr. Hammond. Journey to the Island (Film Version) is absolutely perfect and I am glad it is in the main presentation (I have BOSE headphones AND a DTS: X / Dolby Atmos speaker system, and I hear no supposed horn flub; some people nitpick over the most minute and insignificant thing). I like the transitions between sections better than the album version, though I like the album version as well and it serves as a great alternate, almost like a concert version. Dennis Steals the Embryos (Film Version) is a revelation in that it sounds perfect and I picked up details in the orchestra I never heard before. Thank you to Maestro John Williams, Mike Matessino, @Jay and all involved in this release. *Chef’s Kiss* I said it before, and I’ll say it again: if The Lost World gets a reissue, I’ll be pleasantly surprised. I seriously don’t know what could possibly be improved, but I felt a similar way when the reissue for Jurassic Park was first announced, so who knows.
  12. YES! Also, it makes sense since this year marks the 30th anniversary of the film. I suspect a wide release between October and December. Definitely getting it if it is a remaster of the songs and Alan Menken’s complete score, which it will be.
  13. Listening now. I chocked up a bit hearing Journey to the Island (Film Version). Also, this sounds better than the score as it was included in the 2016 box set. Definitive release for Jurassic Park. Again, if The Lost World gets reissued, I’ll be pleasantly surprised, as I really don’t know how that can possibly be improved upon. Glad I have this and The Lost World.
  14. Oh, yeah. The Maestro’s music from both Jurassic Park and The Lost World play throughout the Jurassic Park area in Orlando. This video has the music that plays throughout the area and it includes, in order, sections of The Trek (0:00 to 2:14), The Long Grass (2:14 to 3:44), Spilling Petrol (3:44 to 6:41), Reading the Map (6:41 to 7:56), On the Glass (7:57 to 10:09), Ludlow’s Speech (10:09 to 12:08), Corporate Helicopters (12:08 to 14:27), In the Trailer (14:27 to 16:40) and percussion overlay to The Hunt (16:40 to end). I have fond memories of going to the Jurassic Park area; after going on the ride, I’d always sit for a while in a quiet area and just listen to the music. Selections of the Maestro’s music also play in the gift shops. I remember listening to The T-Rex Chase, Rescuing Sarah, High Bar and Ceiling Tiles in the store. Thanks to The John Williams Jurassic Park Collection released in 2016, I can enjoy the entire score of both films. I can’t wait to get the 2022 reissue of Jurassic Park today for the updated remaster and the two film version cues.
  15. Approximately 35 minutes after I placed the order on July 5, the order status updated to Awaiting Shipment. As of now, no update yet. I cannot wait to get this.
  16. That is awesome! As much as I love the album version of Journey to the Island, I’ve always preferred the film version, and now it is available in all its glory. Those differences in performance and little touches really add to the whole thing. I can’t describe it. It captures the moment you first experienced it.
  17. I ordered it at exactly 3 PM EST. It went through, now awaiting fulfillment. Do I have to re-order it since the order page disappeared after the order was placed?
  18. Well, at least one positive came out of my being sick and having to stay home and not go to work today: I’ll be able to order this immediately at 3 PM EST.
  19. The less said about the Jurassic World trilogy, the better.
  20. That is The Hunt, actually. It is extra percussion overlay. Very cool, though; you’re right, that would be cool to have. Apart from that, though, I cannot figure what could possibly be improved with The Lost World. It was complete and remastered. As I said, if there will be a remastered reissue of the complete score, I will be pleasantly surprised (given the 25th anniversary, though, the timing would make sense).
  21. Considering that @Jay liked my observation about Journey to the Island on this new reissue, and you, @TownerFan, mentioned this release offers a few improvements, I’m sold. I cannot wait to get this. Now, I will be absolutely surprised if The Lost World also gets a remastered stand-alone reissue, since I don’t know what could possibly be improved with that. Either way, it is a win-win, especially for those who missed out on The John Williams Jurassic Park Soundtrack Collection.
