Not the arrangement for solo violin. He did revise the piece of orchestra, but the solo violin version wasn't heard until yesterday.  It certainly could be similar to that version. 

Was it just me, or were these performances extra special? I felt the same about film night. Something about them was more intimate, I don't know why.
 
I will say that it was nice hearing the (slightly revised) concerto, which hearing it close up and clearly, that piece is all blues style harmonies but very narrative. What a masterpiece.

Finally, the Han Solo and the Princess arrangement for Anne-Sophie surfaces. It's my favorite Star Wars love theme, and I think it's probably amongst my favorite Williams' love themes. I was so excited when Ann-Sophie posted a picture with the title visible as she was preparing for Across The Stars, and then so sad and disappointed and shocked and gloomy when it didn't appear on that album. Finally, it's alive! Hope I can hear it soon!

Actually there were cameras all over the stage, BUT I don't know if they were filming those shows, or just today.

I don't think it was filmed, and it certainly wasn't streamed.
I just wanted to hear the piece reverberate around the room as opposed to headphones.

I did notice a few minor revisions.  That, combined with a more confident performance, really gave the piece a great unity of direction.  Really enjoyed listening on my dorm's TV speakers last night.

I think any live music experience, let alone one with a legend like Williams, feels way more special after the past year and a half.

Chills. Absolute chills. I have paid a pretty penny several times over the years to see the Maestro conduct his work only feet away.  I’ve never taken it for granted, but something about it being free today made it all the more surreal.
 
The three pieces Williams and Mutter did were indeed The Long Goodbye, Marion’s Theme, and Han Solo and The Princess (which took an already stunning theme to unbelievable new heights). Williams also came out at the end of the concert with the three other conductors, and they left him to do an encore of The Imperial March.

Wow this arrangement sounds beautiful... It's basically an update of JW's already terrific arrangement of Marion's Theme from the past decade.

EDIT: Now that I look very closely, the third pic from the top, with the cello laying on its side, the music clearly has a four-word title, and I'm wondering if it's "With Malice Toward None."  The cello is set up as a soloist, at the front of the orchestra...

In addition, the fourth pic down from the top (with the music showing through the harp) shows a piece with a long title and four movements, the last three having one-word titles.  I'm thinking:
 
"Concerto for Cello and Orchestra"

2. Blues
3. Scherzo
4. Song

Seeing the harp so prominently, I again wonder if Highwood's Ghost is not part of this.

This will mark the first commercial recording of Williams leading the NY Philharmonic. Previous to this, only the Theme from Schindler List, as recorded in concert back in 2006 was available on disc.
