  1. What about the pod race sounds from the phantom menace?
  2. Shawn Murphy records everything analog, even today. He then does an analog to digital transfer of all of the tapes.
  3. 22khz was a fairly generous range I doubt anybody over the age of two can actually have an aural range of 22khz
  4. I think it's also because most orchestras don't know how to or want to hire somebody to program a synthesizer, and not all patches will be compatible with every system. I think it's just to keep things simpler, most symphonies have their own Celeste. The local symphony here in Anchorage, Alaska has one!
  5. Based on nyquists theorem and the range of the human ear, it's LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE to tell the difference between sample rates above 44.1/16. Higher sample rates just bring in supersonic frequencies that will cause inter modulation which hurts the sound quality of the file. So cd quality is optimum.
  6. That's just something the signature editions do. Always remove the synthesizers, 4th (or more) wind parts, 5-8th horn parts, second harp and anything else out of reach for a standard symphony orchestra to have.
  7. More titles are on the bmi website now, but they just confirm titles we already knew.
  8. Actually iTunes let's you renown load previously purchased items. I just did it and the audio gaps are no longer present.
  9. Why does it say that the LSO performed schindlers list and e.t. in that file?
  10. I don't think it fits correctly, I'm pretty sure that cue was written for an earlier version of that scene.
  11. That's the correct start, written that way in the sheet music
  12. I have to disagree about your comment on the synth parts. The synths were mixed MUCH to quietly on the original release and I found myself turning the volume way up to just to hear faint synth sounds that were in the sheet music that I wanted to confirm were even recorded!
  13. Pages 7-12 were definitely copied from 3m2, so that explains why the choral part is written out.
  14. There's no choir in the sheet music for the end finale or end credits, so if its in the end credits in the film then it is tracked. The only cue in the latter part of the film to contain choir is 12m3-13m1 into the kitchen and that's just men's voices, but any other choir is tracked in.
  15. Jason I noticed something missing from your cue list. There was an orchestral version of the prologue written but I don't know if it was ever recorded, perhaps you could confirm this. Do you know why there is no 1m1?
  16. The only release I have is the Concorde and In the Jungle seems to be mixed incorrectly as its always sounded odd to me, but in the movie the woodwind parts all sounded correct! Perhaps I need to find this DCC release to listen to the desert chase, the desert chase in the movie definitely didn't sound much better than the concord release.
  17. Hi, I'm relatively new to this forum and am a huge John Williams fan! I don't know if this has been discussed before but I had recently purchased the Indiana Jones blu ray box set and the second I played ROTLA I noticed a HUGE difference in sound quality compared to the soundtrack release. The music is just overall mixed better and sounds as though its been remastered in places and isn't dialed out or played as quietly as it was in the VHS release. I wonder if there is an isolated score track on the blu ray because it would be interesting to hear that.
