That ebay copy sold for $760, due to somebody bidding $750 in the last few seconds but a higher bid already being in place

BTW nobody copied the pics from the listing in the thread, so here they are since they'll eventually get wiped from ebay's servers

Quartet Records, in collaboration with Capitol Records and Universal Music Entertainment, present a 2-CD set with a revised, remastered, slightly expanded edition of scores for two landmark made-for-television films composed by John Williams (STAR WARS, E.T., JURASSIC PARK, HOOK) between 1968 and 1970.

Both of these adaptations of classic stories were presented by Omnibus Productions and directed by Delbert Mann, and both also earned Emmy® Awards for John Williams’ original music. Through these scores, the composer shaped the destinies of two classic literary characters as well as his own.
Every effort was made to locate surviving audio elements for both HEIDI and JANE EYRE. The discovery of the original ½″ four-track masters from HEIDI containing all of the cues selected for the 1968 narrated story album facilitated an attentive new mix of the music and a presentation in narrative order. The narration record was newly transferred by Universal Music Group and is presented after the musical score.

For JANE EYRE, a new high-resolution transfer of the 1971 ¼″ stereo album master was provided by Universal Music Group, with audio then fully restored. This is followed by four tracks of additional material, including a short segment of source music that is heard in the film but was not on the album. The other three tracks are alternate performances of three selections recorded for the album, “To Thornfield,” “Restoration” and the “Love Theme.” This material was sourced from two ½″ 3-track tapes that were discovered at Twentieth Century Fox in early 2019. While no additional score cues could be located, the recovery of any new material from this enduring and highly regarded John Williams work is most welcome.

The entire collection has been painstakingly remixed, restored, assembled and mastered by Mike Matessino, preserving all the freshness of the original recording. The package includes a 28-page full-color booklet with in-depth liner notes by film music writer John Takis and classy art direction by Jim Titus.

So this has been in the back of my head ever since @Ricard brought it up almost 2 years ago...

I finally decided to give it a go and started something that I've been working on... it is in no way complete but it's a start. I've been picking away at it here and there but I thought it might get the ball rolling... even if it is 2 years later

I've been thinking about doing this for a long time, but never found the right moment to work on it. Now I've realized that it's as easy as start a thread and compile as many dates as people may want to add.

You can copy/paste all the events already posted by others and add them to your post, or simply add a bunch of new ones and someone else will make and updated list, which will be added to this main post on a regular basis.

All kinds of events attended by the Maestro, awards/nominations, concerts, recording sessions, even original album releases, are welcome to the list.

Here's a start with some examples:

1932/02/08 - John Towner Williams is born in Queens, New York 1976/03/29 - John Williams wins his 2nd Academy Award for the original score for Steven Spielberg's "Jaws" 2020/01/29 - John Williams wins the Grammy Award in the Best Instrumental Composition category for his "Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Symphonic Suite" 2020/01/31 - Jim Svejda interviews John Williams on KUSC Radio 2020/02/08 - John Williams saluted at the Society of Composers & Lyricists’ annual Oscar music reception 2021/07/24 - John Williams conducts the World Premiere of his "Violin Concerto No. 2" at Tanglewood, with Anne-Sophie Mutter on violin 2021/08/14 - John Williams conducts the World Premiere of his new work "Overture to the Oscars" at Tanglewood
Feel free to expand the event descriptions, as long as they're not too long (this isn't a biography but a chronological list).

    I'm sure it'll be fun!

The Williams portion of Tanglewood on Parade was short and sweet, with a nice selection of familiar pieces played beautifully. Williams was especially impassioned toward the end of Born on the Fourth of July, he seemed to be trying to draw as much feeling as he could from the players. Not much else to report honestly, but it was a nice complement to the Film Night show, with no repeats in the program.

It was good to catch up with @rpvee a bit, and I also REALLY enjoyed the rest of Tanglewood on Parade! I've never been to this event before, but I'd love to go again. It's sort of an all-day festival of performances by the very talented students who spend the summer in educational programs at Tanglewood, with a nice variety of music, and good use of both the shed and Ozawa hall. The fireworks at the end were fun. I'm confused as to why they put this all-day event on a Tuesday, though.

At 7:30, half an hour before the main concert began, there was a series of fanfares performed in the shed, including "A Toast!" That was a nice little bonus.

Quite randomly, back in the days we could access the high resolution cover using the thumbnails below the main cover, if you remember, it was something like that:

The second image was the high resolution cover, and replacing the size in the URL by "original" always led to the original file.

This still works now but it needs a bit more work:

For the ST here are the full runtimes:
The Force Awakens - 174 minutes
The Last Jedi - 184 minutes
The Rise of Skywalker - 226 minutes
    (These are official numbers)

The runtimes for TPM and AOTC can be determined by combining the cue lengths in the recording logs, although that doesn't include alternate takes at all. I had to estimate the lengths of some of the inserts and source cues using my edits as a reference.
The Phantom Menace - 127 minutes (approx.)
Attack of the Clones - 119 minutes (approx.)
Revenge of the Sith - 129 minutes (approx.)

    A New Hope - 93 minutes (approx.)

I listened to the main score program (not alternates yet) and really, really enjoyed it. The score as a whole feels nicely fleshed out, is not too repetitive to me and is a nice overall length at 53+ minutes.

I really enjoy the nice woodwind writing and performances throughout the score, and the warmth of the writing throughout. I liked hearing the different keyboards sprinkled throughout the score in addition to the beautiful piano playing. There is the Randy Kerber celeste sound in some tracks, there is the harpsichord bits which are fun, and then some other synth noises, similar or the same as the synth 'chime' (?) sounds in Home Alone and reminding me of the synth bell noise in 'Hide and Seek' from ChatGPT A.I.

It's a beautiful score with a lot of nice intimate moments, along with more grand flourishes of romanticism. Really happy to have this expansion!

Custom charges in Portugal are 23% upon the item price plus shipping, so I usually get this releases through music box. If I combine with other stuff, diluting the shipping charges, it always ends up being the most affordable solution.
