Bringing Up Baby (1938)

I'm tentatively planning to join. Thank you for putting this together, Thor.

Due to his limited schedule, he'll agree to compose one cue per episode, but we'll have to guess which one it is, and there's no guarantee it'll be included on the soundtrack.

Noticed that too... what was that?
Maybe it was an early run-through and he was singing the tune to encourage certain musicians, or to help his own conducting?

6:40-7:01 in the first video... is Williams singing along with Luke & Leia??

A Christmas Gift for You from Philles Records... River Deep, Mountain High... legendary.

By June, the Disaster Box will have been unavailable for, what, a year?
So first I have to wait for it to come back in stock, THEN I have to wait for it to go on sale. Waiting for this one won't kill me, however

It's just as well that I don't have to try to care about the score to this movie (I also hope to avoid having to care about the movie itself). I love Matrix but the series has been the definition of diminishing returns. I enjoy Davis' music, he wrote a ton of Matrix music already, so I'm happy to let sleeping dogs lie.

A TPM appreciator! Hooray!

Maybe he recorded it as a possibility for the OST, rather than the film. I can think of two possible reasons.
1. He could join the main title to the end title to create a concert track like he did for the original Star Wars 77 OST. Why would he do that? Well, maybe for whatever reason he rerecorded Raiders March for the KotCS OST.
2. He could have used the end credits to close out the OST, since he already put DotF and Anakin's Theme early on, although that kind of thing doesn't usually seem to be a problem for him

Seems like the best theory we have.

No joke, this is my most listened to track on that album

Haha well I'm happy for you!
Is the same composition on the OST, or is it unique here?

I'm sure you're right. That's just my only theory on why they'd use both venues - that maybe Royce was used for something more specialized. I suppose there could be other reasons of convenience. But these are both in LA anyway, aren't they? I guess someone involved with Royce Hall or one of Williams' projects there would have to comment for us to really know.

NOOO! I'm talking about the mixing!
Well what do I know about that! I'm not the man with the golden ears.

I can imagine that's the case. TLJ for example I enjoy on the album, but it actually made a stronger impression on me in the film, because it complemented the onscreen action so well. Plus I've only heard an overblown concert piece from the Patriot and not the actual score, and I tend to enjoy Williams' scores more than his concert versions. So perhaps the expansion will be revealing.

That's certainly the worst. Most of the others are acceptable.
That's how I feel about the album too, compositionally.

Duh, I meant in that recording of The Patriot theme!
So all the tracks are balanced except that one, you say?
-

The orchestral balance is all wrong in that recording.
Well it didn't ruin the other tracks for me, just the Patriot!

Escapism sucks!

I'm not so sure about this score either... the Patriot is the only track I skip on Lights, Camera, Music. It feels empty somehow. It's going to be a tough call whether to buy an expansion when it eventually comes out.

Nice writeup! Thank you for that... I'm planning on buying this but was hoping to hear more detailed reactions first.

Phantom of the Opera.
That was funky all right, but it has more than one track.

Thank you for the dedication, it means a lot. But now you're telling me Roy Budd is AVERAGE?

I would have liked if it was just a sitcom and never broke the fourth wall. The first couple episodes were fun.
