Is everything John creates a masterpiece
mcdaid72000 replied to JoeinAR's topic in General Discussion
I agree with this in that there are some great works including: Star Wars(1977), The Empire Strikes Back(1980) Raiders of the Lost Ark(1981), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade(1989), Alway(1989), Home Alone(1990), Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone(2001), Memoirs of a Geisha(2005). There are many others I would put down, but this would be a long list. JWFan members can make there own favorites list. You do not have to agree with me and my list, but I voted "Yes." -
Where did the Imperial March come from?
mcdaid72000 replied to Genius_Gone_Insane's topic in General Discussion
I think John Williams said this after he viewed the movie without music and came back to George to say, "Hey George listen to what I just came up with for the new ESB movie. I think it will make a great theme for Vader." I could be wrong though. -
What is the Last Film You Watched? - Part II
mcdaid72000 replied to Lurker's topic in General Discussion
Last film I watched was Empire of the Sun(VHS-Recorded-ABC) which was broadcast one or two years ago. -
The new Star Wars DVDs . . . Just how 'limited'?
mcdaid72000 replied to Goldsmithfan's topic in General Discussion
I think they just said that to see how fast people would go to get a copy of it. After the initial response I think they will keep it out longer than they intended, so I say they will pull off the shelves in December of 2008. -
One of the most compelling soundtracks of all time besides Star Wars. John Williams the best Maestro out there right now. My favorite track on here is Exsultate Justi. This is why I asked about the lyrics because it is well done. Did anybody watch the PBS special with the Boston Pops Orchestra. I can't remember the real name.
-
Yes, Feb 10, according to the topic on this board. I did not know they made a box set for Jerry Goldsmith. Can I find it on any websites? I think they should do the same for John Williams.

Which Symphony Orchestra Will John Williams......
mcdaid72000 replied to Damo's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
He's mainly done LSO Raider's was done with LSO Last Crusade was done with LSO, but Temple was done with HSO. I do not want to say 100% sure he's going to use LSO, but I would guess this because he's used them so many time. He likes the sound. I do not know why he used HSO for temple. Does anybody know why he use them instead of LSO? -
:) :) Hey everybody out there. This year will be the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars. I think they should now release the 6 disc expanded edition of Star Wars. Who all agrees with me. :) :)

My Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace Special Edition
mcdaid72000 replied to Pieter Boelen's topic in General Discussion
Do a Special Edition Listing for Episode II and III. Iwould like to see what this would look like. -
I read something very intresting on a website(can't remember website name) on why John Williams will not re-release Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Soundtrack. I read that there is not enough support for it and that there are not enough people intrested in seeing this soundtrack being re-released. I think this is wrong and not ture. How many of the members here at John Williams Fan Network would support a re-release of the soundtrack? Do you think we should all start a petition to get this soundtrack re-release? Thanks.
-
I like the new theme for Sunday Night football. The faster version of the song sounds like the NBC "Mission" Theme. I want to here your thoughts about the theme and have a question. Do you think he will put on a CD anytime soon?
-
To All John Williams Fans: Do you know if John Williams is doing the music this time for the whole soundtrack or is he doing just the themes again like he did for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. If he is just doing the themes. Do you think they got Patrick Doyle or will they have some one else do the music?

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Soundtrak
mcdaid72000 replied to mcdaid72000's topic in General Discussion
The people who think that e-bay is REALLY SAFE watch 20/20 on Firday. A lady is going to give her stroy on how she was jipped and her credit card accounts were wipped out. I think we should get rid of e-bay. One scam is too many. Boycott the E-bay. Do not visit E-bay at anytime. E-bay safe. HA!HA! HA! HA! -
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Soundtrak
mcdaid72000 replied to mcdaid72000's topic in General Discussion
I do not like e-bay because of the fact you can ONLY become a MEMBER if you give out your credit card number which is REQUIRED if you want to buy anything off e-bay. I think this is wrong. I DO NOT HAVE A CREDIT CARD or DO NOT PLAN ON GETTING A CREDIT CARD anytime soon. The reason being IDENTITY THIEFT. The person could claim they are selling the CD, but then decide not to and then they have your money and credit card number and with draw everthing in the account. Then your in debt with your credit card company and they want you to pay the bill when it was not you making those excessive payments on your credit card. This the main reason I will not get a credit card. -
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Soundtrak
mcdaid72000 replied to mcdaid72000's topic in General Discussion
This is a lame excuse just to get people to buy somthing. I did buy it though, but I still think the people who can determaine if th eIndiana Jones and the Temple of Doom soundtrack should be rereleased SHOULD release this soundtrack again and SOON!!!!! I like there version, but it is not the complete score and not really conducted by John Williams. I would also like more replies because this subject last the whole month of Nov. Thanks. -
I remember when I mailed him a letter back before Revenge of the Sith came out. I think I wrote him Aug. 2003 and I recived a reponse Jan. 2004. So yes, he does repond, but all I ever got back was his autograph which is cool just I wished he anwsered my questions.
-
Indiana Jone and the Temple of Doom Soundtrack was first release on May 23, 1984 and I have tried to find it on-line to buy, but have successfully failed to find it to buy. People are selling it on e-bay, but too expensive and not sure if they are telling the truth about the condition. I know it is not up to John Williams to rerelease this soundtrack, but maybe someone could let me know if this soundtrack will be rereleased?

Let the poll decide: is ROTS a good score? Just YES or NO
mcdaid72000 replied to Sandor's topic in General Discussion
ROTS is a good score and is better than its predecessors even though Episode I and II are equally good in there own ways. The next thing for them to due is release the complete tracks of all music from Episode I-III and Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace(Ultimate Edition) does not count because they release this for some other reason and not because it is a Special Edition. -
Star Wars: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back is the Best Star Wars Score evehthough the Best Main Title is Episode III. I will tell you why. Episode V has the Imperial March(Original), The Battle of Hoth(Originial) and the Carbon Freeze...(Original). What does Episode III have: Main Title(Original/Remakes[Force Theme]), Battle of the Heroes(Original/Remake[imperial March]), General Grivious(Original). I am not sure, but I think General Grivious is the only song original make. The others he adds something he as arleady done.
-
Out of the three prequel movies though I like Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. The song fits the action very well and John Williams Should have won an oscar for the Soundtrack to Revenge of the Sith. It was disappointing to see it lose. Battle of the Heroes is another reason it should have won an oscar. This two songs make the soundtrack #1. #2 on my list is Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. #3 Episode II; #4 Episode VI #5 Episode IV and #6 Episode I.
-
What Williams-score really SHOULD have won an Oscar?
mcdaid72000 replied to Sandor's topic in General Discussion
I think "The Empire Strikes Back" should have won an Oscar. The Imperial March is one of the reasons why it should have won an Oscar another reason is the The Battle of Hoth. These plus the other muisc make this a real winner and not muisc used from other movies he has made. -
With like any soundtrack there are muisc that is used in the film, but originally not released in the soundtrack. Like its predecessor Star Wars: Episode IV-Vi he released the soundtracks, but 25 years later released the Special Edition Soundtrack to IV-VI. When do you think the release of the Speical Edition Soundtrack of Episode I-III will come out? Do you think it will take another 25 years just to release these unreleased music?
