  1. Well, someone's gotta do it. And kids will love Jar Jar and arent picky about their movies anyway. I personally dont think watching I-VI will be that bad. Anyway, the biggest advantage I can think of if you watch the PT first is it elevates Ben's fight against Vader in IV, which on its own is rather geriatric. Btw, what is the big deal about Star Wars vs A New Hope? Wasnt the only reason we didnt get A New Hope on the first go was that Fox didnt want to confuse audiences about an Episode IV out of the blue?
  2. hard choice too. it could work both ways i say. i'm more in favor of IV-VI than I-III. If only to maintain V's killer twist. Even then, you'd have to watch it at a very young age (something I myself was lucky to have) to make a big impact on your psyche (Lucas admitted as much on IV's commentary track), as well as not know Vader was Luke's daddy.
  3. I'd go with Far and Away.... always loved the semi folksy americana stuff JW produces......
  4. a bridge too far? i love that too! it was john addison right?
  5. its gonna premiere here in malaysia in about a week! cant wait. i'd bet my bottom dollar they would have had any nudity censored out though.
  6. hmmm....so do we mail to CA or massachussets? (CA is california right?)
  7. i'm not sure about this (and the user votes). you also have to take into account how much the voters liked jazz i guess. btw, has anyone every listened to The Star Wars Trilogy by the Trotter Trio? Yup, star wars, in jazz. this could be something like that
  8. far from it. i used to try and console myself that this was the fact. unfortunately, i could fool myself for only so long. the TPM puppet looked far more sickly and haggard than the OT ones, except for his clothes. no, it didnt look like a younger version of yoda, more like an imposter of the same species
  9. i fully expect a cg yoda to debut in TPM sooner rather than later. didnt u guys know that Lucas instructed ILM to convert TPM's yoda into cg as practice for ROTS? that said, yeah, the TPM puppet was crap....never looked like Yoda
  10. I've been following the preq resource thread a little keenly, and was wondering where I could get the tracks you guys have managed to conjure up. I would very much like Goodbye Old Friend at least. Sorry for starting a new thread, but I seem to be having problems loading long threads at this site, as I've enquired about here.. http://www.jwfan.net/index.php?name=PNphpB...p=212682#212682
  11. this user review of the Silva release, 'The Music of John Williams: 40 Years of Film Music' on Amazon.com "I thought that the music quality was fine, but the music did not sound the same as the music in the original soundtracks. John Williams does not conduct his songs on these CD's. I could hear differences between songs I allready own and songs on these CD's. It seemed like the conductor on these CD's interpreted the music differently and therefore the music did not sound the same. I did not like that I could hear the difference between the original soundtracks and the songs on these CD's. I also found an error with one of the song names. Instead of Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone, one of the song names was Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone. I would definitely recomend the original soundtracks over this set of CD's. 1/5 stars"
  12. i'd go with the first option too. by 'other stuff' do you mean alternates or source music? some source music i like in the middle of the score too, like the cantina bands.
  13. IMDB has this slated for 2006 though....which site is more up to date?
  14. Not much info at imdb, but soundtrack.net has JW slated to score it? http://www.soundtrack.net/upcoming/index.html?id=231
  15. Kingdom of Heaven took about...3 runs before it hit me. War of the Worlds too. I still havent got into Saving Private Ryan yet, apart from the hymn since its so....slow. Not Williams' fault I admit, just an inherent property from the film
  16. i think the songs could be source music. and yes, hippogriff is...puke inducing
  17. gee...and i thought things were as bad as they are in malaysia...looks like its no worse than some places u guys are at. some shops here dont even have a soundtrack section, or all the soundtracks are 'Music from and inspired by...'. I've never even seen the Spiderman score, only the Music from and inspired by...
  18. The two Yule Ball songs made me want to puke, especially that Hippogriff one.
  19. "The Metallica version of Imperial March is soooo much better than the original!" sigh
  20. GoF starts off sounding a little Batman-ish dont u think?
