Your favorite Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade cue
Pieter Boelen replied to Bellosh's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
I'll go for "The Boat Scene"; just because it has a boat in it and it IS really good. But honestly, this is quite the impossible choice. SO many great ones to choose from. Both Austrian tracks are really stylish too. And "Alarm!" reminds me of the film so much that it instantly makes me laugh. Really, REALLY good score all around! Williams was clearly inspired. -
Far and Away (1992) - 2020 2-CD expansion from La-la Land Records
Pieter Boelen replied to Josh500's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
I like it well enough. "Love" is a strong word, I suppose, but it's got a good time setting, adventure, a good look, great music. Can't think of any reason to be excessively critical of it. It does fit my general movie preferences. -
I would also prefer a 4 hour runtime over a film feeling rushed with important explanations downright skipped over. That being said, it sounds to me like they generated enough creative content for several movies. Can't all fit it in one. Some focus sure helps. Would indeed be nice too see all that good unused content make its way into future content.

Ludwig Göransson's THE MANDALORIAN (2019-present)

If it excites you, then go for it! I might listen to it and get excited too. -
Thank you! Yes, he does. Looking forward to Season 3.

John Powell's CALL OF THE WILD (2020)
Pieter Boelen replied to PrayodiBA's topic in General Discussion
Much appreciated! Looking forward to it. I was lucky to notice this thread last Saturday. Had completely failed to catch that Powell and Ford were joining up for adventure. Immediately listened to the soundtrack a few times once I found out it was already released. Watched the movie the very next day and loved every minute of it. Getting into the soundtrack properly now. The themes seemed a bit elusive to me at first, but seeing the film certainly helped. As does your post there. Music seems pretty darn great! And same goes for the movie. That's the sort of old-fashioned adventure film they really don't make enough of. But we got another one in 2020 and I'm very grateful for it. -
David Arnold to the rescue!

That was fast! And yep, that explains it perfectly well. So... technically it IS semi-unique content. Never knew.

Wait, what's the music to Temple of the Forbidden Eye like? Does that feature any original music by anyone?

I liked Rebels pretty well too. Main character on Resistance is obnoxiously stupid though. It gets better nearer the end of the season. Hoping that season 2 continues an upward trend...

Another Star Trek film in the works, by Noah Hawley
Pieter Boelen replied to Edmilson's topic in General Discussion
I wonder why. From my side, that motorcycle chase and Beastie Boys song blowing stuff up definitely seemed bizarre to say the least. I could've done without that. And I didn't like blowing up the Enterprise yet again. That happens a bit too often for my liking. But I liked the exploration at the beginning, the camraderie and the spacey-ness of that Yorktown base. After two semi-Earth-based films, being so far on the edges of Federation space felt oddly liberating. -

I'd have thought that about Into Darkness, really. Different people, eh? -
New Project: John Williams Potter Scoring

Bizarre. That would seem more copyright-infringe-y than this because it's all original recordings. Could it be film-dependent somehow? I understand film/TV legal rights can be quite the nightmare. And differ wildly from country to country too. Or could it depend on the country of the uploader then instead? -

So the bootleg had no double material with an alternate there? Hmm... There IS something to be said for that, I reckon. Not as ever intended, but for listening it might work quite nicely... -

Wow... WB seems quite picky then! Well, fair enough and kudo's for trying! I would hate for you to get sued too. You're doing such a good job; you deserve credit, not headaches. I like that idea! Makes a lot of sense. Plus... A "soundtrack release" like that probably would make for a nice listen apart from the movie too. I'll be cautiously looking forward to it. -
Archeology too?!? Knowing little about it, I wouldn't have expected that. I'd be curious about any examples you might happen to know. Plot to Tomorrow Never Dies.

Another Star Trek film in the works, by Noah Hawley
Pieter Boelen replied to Edmilson's topic in General Discussion
Beyond was the first that felt like a real Star Trek movie to me. The first was just a set-up. A good set-up, but a set-up all the same. Into Darkness doesn't feel Star Trek at all. Haven't a clue what they were smoking when they came up with that one. At least Beyond went out trekking amongst the stars. And the characters interacted in ways that felt like the characters they were meant to be. I liked especially the opening where they were just out in space, doing their thing. It still confuses me why that doesn't happen more often in the films... -

Great, great news! And indeed that font looks weird. Was that ever used on any of the film posters? -
New Project: John Williams Potter Scoring

Would they? I'm surprised at what they allow. There's this channel "Ambient Worlds" that has loops of plenty well-known film music. No removals there; just some ads here and there. From what I understand, as long as there is enough new content added, you are pretty safe. "They" might take the ad revenue if "they" believe they've got the rights. With this thread, the clips are relatively short and without their sound effects. That should remove a lot of copyright concerns. It's not like posting the entire movie online for free. And nobody can complain about @Ravendor Studios ' original compositions. People are allowed to post their own work. Even when it's based on existing work. Just look at that "Samuel Kim Music" channel for example. I've once had a 'scare' from one of my videos. Someone claimed ownership of the music, even though it was written especially for us and based on a 17th century folk tune. But all I had to do was to press one button to claim ownership right back. Never heard anything of it again and it's all good. Apparently there are AI's scouring YouTube to find stuff that certain parties believe is theirs. This can be pretty extreme as any random rain sound could be claimed. But mostly this just affects monetization. Viewers will get ads while somebody other than the uploader gets the revenue. -

Thanks for responding. I've got a Samsung TV. First I hear of "fire stick". Maybe you'll consider YouTube-ing the set after the whole movie is posted...? Would be nice to sit back, relax and enjoy it all together.
