  1. Ah! I was beginning to wonder if and when that second season would show up. Feels like it's been quite a while since the first.
  2. But The Orville isn't depressing. What's going to happen next? An actual HAPPY ENDING to the Game of Thrones books?!?
  3. I know The Tale of Despereaux and The Young Black Stallion. There's some good stuff in there. Misses Williams' sense for catchy melody, but otherwise sounds well orchestrated to me.
  4. Indeed that one's a lot of fun! Wished there was a version with a better recording quality though. Surely in 2004 they could do better than that??
  5. One hypothesis I've had of my own is that was added late in the production. They decided what they did was a bit too similar to the first film, so they threw a trench run in there at the last minute. Would've been easy. Need only two actors instead of a whole bunch. And the special effects could be limited to an enclosed area instead of a wide open field with audience in the background. I find it extremely unlikely that they planned it like this way in advance. For starters, it's not in the book; though of course that doesn't say a whole lot. It doesn't feel very sporty to me even though it's supposed to be a sporting event. It also doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If you go in it, the sports audience gets to see virtually nothing of what happens. And why is that trench even there? What is it for? I've like the CoS movie a lot; but this bit always stood out as a sore thumb to me. Perhaps I'm projecting my own feelings onto the movie makers, but I find it very difficult to believe that the scene became what they had always dreamt of making. Surely, given more time and money, they could've come up with something better? And I don't mean for the music; I mean for the movie scene itself. Oh well... I suppose just like with the Williams vs. Ross debate, we will never truly know and it'll all remain conjecture. That can admittedly be fun. As long as we also realise the futility of it. 😂
  6. Ah; thanks! I found that file being linked to from this page under the "Sample Audio" button: https://www.halleonard.com/product/viewproduct.action?itemid=04490827 That gave me the idea to do a Google search for halleonard.com "John Williams" "Sample Audio" which gives interesting results. For example: https://www.halleonard.com/product/8724856/john-williams-movie-themes-for-band https://www.halleonard.com/product/viewproduct.action?itemid=04000916 Too bad that those other "Sample Audio" tracks are also not real orchestra and have deliberate beeps in there to make them unfit for enjoyable listening. Why are there apparently so many officially written suites and adaptations for which no recordings are available? Wouldn't you expect that, since the sheet music is available, there should be plenty of recordings??
  7. MP3? What MP3? Also, any of those other football for which an extended edition exists? This one's pretty darn good!
  8. If they remove stuff, does that also mean the price goes down? Also... why are so many contracts and rules so very completely and utterly pointless?!? There are even massive laws like the US Jones Act which manage to have the exact opposite effect of what they're intended for. In the end, people have to waste time and effort finding loopholes and the original intent gets completely lost somewhere along the way. Nobody wins. "Stupid people being stupid"...?
  9. Indeed a compilation album would be perfect for this stuff. Adding it to the OST probably means sacrificing something else, but allowing it to stand on its own would compromise nothing.
  10. Wait, whaaat?!? That's bizarre, considering how much of a soundtrack fan is in charge of that series.
  11. Unfortunately it's by a German writer and while his work was translated to Dutch, it never made it to English. Which is quite bizarre really and I wonder how that ever came to happen. Not all his books are equally excellent, but he wrote quite a few and most do feel quite right and different from each other. This particular book I mentioned starts with a James Bond opening of Indy driving a truck from into a small town while being chased by a horde of angry desert people on horseback. It's written with a great deal of humour and wit; as fitting for a fun adventure story.
  12. There are plenty of solid adventure stories that could be told with the Indiana Jones concept. Of course Last Crusade was a brilliant finale, but I cannot think of any good reason why more movies have no chance to work. I've read plenty of the additional books too. Some are crap stories. Some I'd definitely consider worth watching as a movie. "The Labyrinth of Horus" in particular. Even just the opening two paragraphs just really suck me in that world of fun adventure.
  13. In all honesty, I've seen a whole lot of different story treatments for Indy IV. The one we got was not even remotely good enough. But it was still the least crappy of the bunch. If they don't have aliens this time around, that'll be a huge step up at least.
  14. You mean compared to the OST version? I didn't notice it being substantially different from the other suite versions. But maybe I wasn't quite paying attention...
  15. Just confirmed this is the concert suite version with the extended middle section and brassy ending where Luke's theme still stands out properly. Isn't this the very first official recording of that?!? Still... No other recording than the OST seems to be able to get that final brass burst in Rey's Theme right. That's the one main difference between the end title and the suite version. It's such a simple thing, but never fails to really get to me.
  16. I quite liked the return of the Lost World theme. That's just such a cool one! And I agree with @Thor there. A jungle filled with Dino's makes for plenty of story and movie potential.
  17. Thanks! Missed that bit. Can't seem to keep up with everything going on anymore these days.
