First version done I have finished my edit and I think it turned out quite well, though I might go back and improve some of my edits after I got some feedback. I found it very hard to judge whether my edits are good or whether they are too early or too late, so feedback on this would be most appreciated. I'll upload it if there are people interested. PM me if you would like to give it a listen and give me some feedback. I have also made some covers for Star Wars Episode I-III Special Editions. Please tell me what you think. I tried to make them in the same style as the covers of the Episode IV-VI Special Editions. I know people have been complaining that those looked like bad Photoshop jobs. However, unlike with the Episode IV-VI covers, mine really ARE bad Photoshop jobs. Or maybe they're not so bad. I think they turned out reasonably well, considering that I am not impressively good with Photoshop.

I will do this for Episode II and III as well, but there's no point in doing it before GoodMusician has finished his work on those episodes, because I base my version(s) on his work. In the meantime, I have started the editing work on Episode I and I'm at about 75%. I think it's going reasonably well. Once I got my first version done, I'll send it to some people to get some feedback. Putting "Run In With Jar Jar" at the end of "The Droid Invasion" works surprisingly well.

Does anyone have some comments on my tracklisting? Too many tracks? Too few? Too long ones? Too short ones? Tracks edited together that shouldn't be? Tracks not edited together that should be? I'm not quite certain what to do with the Battle of Naboo tracks. ESB has the pre-battle music in The Battle of Hoth track as well, so I could add The Battle Begins in The Battle of Naboo I as well. I'm not sure if I should edit together all those battle-music at all though. Duel of the Fates and The Droid Battle in the same track? Perhaps I should break up the Battle tracks in some shorter tracks? So that we'd have Battle of Naboo I-IV instead of having two tracks? Thanks a lot. I tried to download it yesterday, but the link had expired. I'll try again. :)I hope you're OK with me adding your concert suite to my edit. I like it a lot and I think it'd be a great addition. I'm going to see if I can put it somewhere where it works well and doesn't interrupt the flow of the music. If not, I simply won't add it to my edition. I have some tracks from an edit made by Delorean90 and it does have a clean opening there. I can send it to you if you like. But it's not FLAC. Anyway: I edit it together with the previous track, so I hope this will not be a problem at all. Would it be possible to "loop" or "extend" the final note? This is pretty important because it's the final track on Disc 1 (minus the source cues) and it does end very sudden at the moment. :? If you listen to the film version on your edit, you hear something that seems like part of the original version at the very end. This suggests to me that both were edited together at one point. So intent to do the same again so that I can use both the original version and the film/percussion version. At the moment I think I'll use the percussion version. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check what it's like on the UE. Those are some good ideas. I'm going to try a few ideas and see what works best. I was thinking of re-inserting the choral part at the 3:10 mark on the instrumental version, because I'm not actually calling it instrumental, but it's a part of the End Credits instead. Whatever I end up doing, the End Credits will probably be a complete fantasy of my own and have nothing to do with what John Williams had originally intended. But for all I know John Williams intended to use the concert versions like in the film and really I don't want to do that because they'll already be on my edit somewhere else. That much is for certain.

Hello all, GoodMusician has done some very excellent work on his Star Wars Episode I Complete Edition indeed. It is as complete as you can get and in excellent sound quality. And it has all cues as seperate tracks, which should make it very easy to use GoodMusician's version as a base version to make a 2-disc special edition soundtrack similar to the ones released by RCA/Victor for the Original Trilogy. And that is exactly what I'm wanting to do. I am nowhere near as good with music editing as many of the other members of this board, but I reckon that with GoodMusician's complete edition, I should be able to do this reasonably well. At the moment I have not done any editing on this at all yet, because I am trying to decide on the tracklist. I want to make the tracklist similar to the Special Editions for the OT. I don't want to use SFX, nor do I want many alternates. And I want to limit the amount of "double" music as well. So I have been working on making a tracklist for this. Please have a look at the tracklist here. The bold italic text will be the final trackname, while the small text below shows which cues from GoodMusician's complete edition will be used in these tracks. Below the tracklist I have posted some comments of my own and some questions to you all. I hope somebody will be able to help with figuring those out. Before I get to the actual work on this, I would want to have your comments on my tracklist. I want to make the best version I can and for that I do need comments and perhaps some help as well. Perhaps you know of a better way to make this tracklist? Or maybe there are some tracks you think would go great together? Or perhaps there are some tracks you think should not be used together. Or perhaps you have thought of better tracknames? Every (useful) comment is welcome. I am going to try to edit this edition as WAV so that it'll have the best sound quality as possible. Once I'm done, I will provide it to anyone who wants it. But please wait with sending the PMs until it's actually done. Which shouldn't take all that long; GoodMusician already did the hard work.

Children of Dune is also good. Especially the theme in the first track. Timeline is nice, but I found that the same music is being used over and over again, which is a shame. It's good music, but I prefer it if each part of good music is just on the soundtrack once.

My Complete Episode I Score (restored)

Could somebody please tell me which of the alternates are truly and obviously different than the original tracks? I'm going to try and make a Special Edition-like soundtrack based on GoodMusician's work, but I don't want to add any alternates on there, unless they're different enough. Also: Can you please tell me which Gungans March version you prefer, the Original OST version or the film version? -
Has anyone seen this one yet? If George Lucas would make Lord of the Rings:

You can try to search for Kingdom of Heaven on SoulSeek. That way you should be able to find out if there actually are unreleased tracks at all. There are several bootleg versions available on there, but I don't know if they actually contain new HGW music.

I was very much unaware that there are so many people who don't have high opinions of Alan Silvestri. I always thought he is one of the best composers around and am quite surprised to find out there are so many people who don't think he is such a good composer.

My Complete Episode II and III Edits
Pieter Boelen replied to GoodMusician's topic in General Discussion
This is great! I'll be looking forward to this. All the tracked pieces of music will be seperate tracks, right? -
I vote for the first one, because even though it's far from Cutthroat Island, I liked it reasonably well. There are some piratey moments in there. DMC is perhaps more inventive, but it doesn't have any moments in it that seem "seaworthy" to me at all. At least CotBP had some more-or-less "seaworthy" moments. Anyway: That's just my opinion.

A couple of comments based on your original version and the new tracklist. I have not downloaded your new version yet. - Did you really add the original podracing tracks as alternates? - Have you changed Duel of the Fates (Instrumental) since the first version? I do like that track, but the percussion thing around 3:10 breaks the flow quite a bit for me. I'd rather have the choir-version of the music there. But that is just my personal opinion. I will get your new version soon and listen to it. Thanks a lot for all your work. It's EXCELLENT! -
That looks pretty nice! I should also add that I very much liked your work on the Symphony of a Saga suites. It's a great listen. I especially like the concert suite you made of Qui-Gon's theme. I am going to add that onto my complete Episode I version.

Hello all, I'm trying to get myself some more Jerry Goldsmith music. However, I don't know most films he has written music for, so I don't know which of his music I would like. I like action/adventure-like films, so can you recommend any action/adventure-like scores by Jerry Goldsmith? I already have the following: - The 13th Warrior (complete) - Air Force One (almost complete) - Bad Girls - The Edge - First Blood - First Knight (complete) - The Great Train Robbery - King Solomon's Mines - Legend - Lionheart - Looney Tunes: Back in Action - Mulan (complete) - The Mummy (complete) - Patton - The Secret of NIMH - Star Trek I: The Motion Picture (extended) - Star Trek V: The Final Frontier - Star Trek VIII: First Contact (complete) - Star Trek IX: Insurrection (complete) - Star Trek X: Nemesis (complete) - Timeline (complete) - Total Recall - The Wind and the Lion

I think that is "The Elevator Scene". It was written for that scene, but not used in the final film. Shame, it's good music. I personally think that music would have gone very well with Grievous' flagship crashing down on Coruscant.

I was just wondering. I wasn't wanting to pressurize, nor be impatient or anything. We hadn't heard about it in a while.

That's excellent. Make sure your head doesn't explode, GoodMusician. That does nobody any good, now, does it? -

How are you feeling, GoodMusician? Still sick? Any luck with your Episode I complete edition? -
How are you doing, Cerrabore? Are you getting anywhere with your Episode II and Episode III extended editions? We haven't heard from you in a while. :?

Atlantis: The Lost Empire by James Newton Howard: EXCELLENT music. Dinosaur by James Newton Howard: VERY good. Treasure Planet by James Newton Howard: Quite good. Lilo & Stich by Alan Silvestri: Has nice parts. There is a promo with more Silvestri music than the OST. The Wild by Alan Silvestri: Has some pretty good parts. Chicken Little by John Debney: Is quite enjoyable. There is a promo with more Debney music than the OST. The Emperor's New Groove by John Debney: Enjoyable, but not spectacular. Mulan by Jerry Goldsmith: The best score for an animated film I have ever heard. Especially with the unreleased music from the promo. -
I find Mulan to also be a very good animated film. Jerry Goldsmith's score helps a lot, of course.

It is? Maybe I should give it another chance.

My Complete Episode I Score (restored)

My above post was also meant as defense of GoodMusicians work. I would prefer these tracks to be edited together myself, but I agree that is the best decision to not do that on an as-complete-as-possible edition, because people will be able to do edit them together themselves easily, while it is impossible the other way around. Anyway: I am perfectly happy with the work GoodMusician has done and I agree with everything that has been said in his defense. He has done a stunning job and he deserves to be thanked for that. So once again: THANKS A LOT!
