If the music spoils the story...
It's good music!
But it still leaves open a lot of room for interpretation.
Would be fun actually to try to reconstruct the story from the music alone.
I once imagined what the movie looked like to the first half of the Stargate album.
Difference with the actual film: ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE!!!

Just watched those final two episodes.
Good grief, that is DARK.
Where did the FUN Doctor Who go???

On Spotify, eh? Good to know!
Listening to the first track now.
Sounds charming enough.
There's some French accordeon in there.
But could there also be a bit of a Spanish influence...?

Anyone here like "Lucifer"?
I gave it a chance last week Saturday.
Finished the whole 4 seasons by today.
They did good!

Just take inspiration from the games. The Uncharted and Tomb Raider franchises are set on modern times, and it doesn't feel weird at all.
I like how they still featured a period plane in Uncharted.
In fact, pretty much the same plane as in the "Tales of the Golden Monkey" TV series.
But if Indiana Jones is going that way, couldn't it just as well BE Uncharted or Tomb Raider?
What would remain as the unique selling point?

How is No Ticket still not a poll option? WTF?
Because you might as well vote for Gilderoy Lockhart?
It's a track that works well in the film.
But on album? Not really one of my favourites.
There's something a bit annoying about it...

Sounds good.
Except for one thing...
That would put the setting in modern times for the soft reboot series.
But I like the period in the original films.
Adds such a nice bit of extra flavour!
How about setting it all in an alternate dimension?
Where historical progress has been substantially slower?
Or something more like steampunk/Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow?
Indiana Jones + mobile phones just seems... weird.

I for one sorely miss Steven Moffat
Indeed I really liked his positive spin on things.
He could get a bit carried away with the complexities, but hey... It was fun!

Don't forget Kung Fu Panda, by HZ, Powell and Lorne Balfe. I'm not exactly a fan, but it has some great moments in it.
True!
I never really listen to it, but indeed I remember there's some pretty good stuff in there.
Thanks for reminding me.

Has anyone ever been starving for a Harry Gregson-Williams score? Other than Sinbad, of course (which I've never heard but I know it has its fans).
Starving is a big word.
But when he's good, he's GOOD.
Mulan gives him the best possible canvas.
The opportunity is for sure there.
Asian influence has been known to bring out the best in Media Ventures composers before.
Klaus Badelt's "The Promise", for example.
And "The Last Samurai" plus part of the third Pirates of the Caribbean.
So I'm hoping for something good...

Yeah, on Mustafar, the planet at the beginning of the film.
Heh.
Completely failed to notice that was the Rogue One location.
Twice...

Hopefully this means the logo will use the original colors as well.
Seconded!
I love that classic look.

The end credits song is crap, alas.
They did a good job leaving it off the album though.
(Or at least... the Spotify release.)

Rita's bit is fun and energetic.
(And a bit annoying; just like the character.)
The Family Theme is always welcome and fits nicely.
It's transition to Window to the Past is truly inspired!
The second always seemed like a replacement for the first to me.
I love that you're keeping both.
Nice "Raiders March" approach there.

The return of those Chamber of Secrets themes in that second video is really nice too.
Appropriately dark atmosphere there in the opening.
And I especially like the Weasley theme.

That one.
Obviously.

Not 3.

From the beginning he's essentially been a vestige of Picard, so him being separated is actually a great opportunity for character building.
Hope we'll be seeing that then.

But my fucking God, can someone kill Tauriel already?
Tauriel!

The guy barely got the chance to do much of anything yet.
I'd hate for him to be killed before he got into his own.
Bit annoying that he's separated from the main cast now.
Doesn't give much chance for character-building interactions.

'Normal' track titles give a bit more of a clue of what's going on in the scene and help to understand the music.
It's a good way to avoid spoilers then.
And let the music tell its own story.
(Admittedly... I do like stylish track names myself too.)

I wish he would have worded that differently, because now for the next several months we'll be hearing from BS articles and YouTube videos about how "there's a 4-hour cut of TROS!!!"
There probably is.
Or was.
Not that we're going to get to see it.

Complete Cutthroat Island release imminent!

Good! Goooood!
Indeed the choir in the completest release is very cool.
But it's also sometimes over-the-top in an already over-the-top film score.
The Prometheus release really makes for a good listen.
Slightly less epicness, but certainly with more than enough remaining.
And the complete Battle track without interruptions is completely glorious.
I honestly cannot say which of the three official releases I like best.
Really, every single one of them has its positives.
And I'm glad to have them all.
