  1. It's too late for the EE of course, but it could still be included elsewhere! They could change it to 'Fourteen fish in thirteen (?) barrels' and have them sing it as they pursue our company downriver.
  2. I blame Tolkien for including a 'Down, Down to Goblin-town' song in the first place. Don't be giving PJ ideas. To be honest though I like all the other stuff I've seen in the EE. Let's just be thankful he didn't add Azog and his band singing 'Fifteen birds in five firtrees'
  3. Back to Shore though - the key opportunities for new music will be Bilbo visiting the marketplace and the flashback to his childhood. I'd be surprised if we heard anything new (as in, not on the soundtrack) during other extended scenes.
  4. He's dressing to impress. Galadriel and Saruman are important guests don't you know.
  5. I think PJ wants to suggest that they spend two nights in Rivendell. The CGI dwarves in the fountain - that shot really has to be done with CGI, as they wouldn't look right as normal people. At all. Watching the Great Goblin song a couple more times - I'm becoming more tolerant of it, though I won't go as far to say it's grown on me. I quite like the chorus part. Would have (probably) preferred it if it didn't come at the expense of Shore's music.
  6. That makes sense, because whenever I tried to cue Bilbo's theme from The White Council to the scene, I always had to start earlier than when the Shire theme comes in. I love the Golf scene. Wonderful acting from McKellen. I'd love it even more if it had Bilbo's full theme playing over it.
  7. SafeUnderhill - it's just the Took part, and it's tracked from Axe or Sword (it's definitely not from White Council anyway). And it plays over Elrond and Lindir moaning about the bathing Dwarves for some reason. But nonetheless it was kind of nice and somewhat reassuring to hear it. Gives me hope we'll hear the full theme in future.
  8. Well there are major music changes alright...guess this is what Doug meant by 'wait and see'.
  9. It surprises me that so many people haven't heard of them, but I suppose they're probably not as well known outside of Australiasia and the UK/Ireland. I think a couple of their albums did pretty well in the US though.
  10. There's a clip of the Rivendell extensions up on YouTube. The music for Bilbo's exploration and seeing Narsil is the same as the extended 'White Council' (prior to the tracked Shire music of course). But what was interesting is that the next new scene, where Lindir tells Elrond that the Dwarves are putting strain on the kitchen and they see them bathing, you hear the 'Took' part of Bilbo's theme playing in the background - but oddly enough, it's from 'Axe or Sword' again, and not 'The White Council'. Given that this is now the second time this is heard in the film, in the same combination (following the Shire theme), it seems to me that Jackson likes that part but not the first part. And yes of course you can ask why part of Bilbo's theme is playing over this scene, but I'm happy to hear it to be honest, as it gives me hope we might yet hear the 'Baggins' part as well at some point.
  11. There won't be any music changes. I really wouldn't get your hopes up.
  12. Also Pineapple Head, Weather With You, Distant Sun, Into Temptation, Four Seasons In One Day, Not The Girl You Think You Are, Better Be Home Soon, It's Only Natural, Fall at Your Feet, Locked Out, World Where You Live, Private Universe - many great songs. Whatever you think of his song for AUJ, there's no denying the man's talents as a (pop) songwriter.
  13. Meh. Neil Finn's music has always appealed to me far more than Lennox's ever did, so it probably has something to do with that. Plus I find her voice far too harsh on the chorus parts. Ruins the song. In general circles, it seems there's a lot of love for Finn's song. Just seems to be you bunch of miserable philistines who hate it so much.
  14. You talk like all three LOTR songs were great shakes. I have no love for Into the West at all, and Gollum's Song isn't much better.
  15. We won't get that for a couple more weeks if last year is any indication. I think it was 5th November? It promises fireworks, that's for sure.
  16. The Songs of The Hobbit documentary is about 28 minutes long (BBFC have rated it). http://www.bbfc.co.uk/releases/songs-hobbit-video
  17. I'd hope not, though it would bring McCartney's ties with Middle Earth full circle after that film project was (mercifully) abandoned.
  18. But that doesn't mean she wasn't in the script while Del Toro was still attached!
  19. So Jackson makes it all up to Shore by offering him the chance to compose a composition for the entire credits? I like it.
  20. Really surprised we haven't heard who is doing the credits song yet. Are they just going to surprise us all and drop it in the album press release in a few weeks time?
  21. If we just assume that there hasn't been a fart joke in Jackson's Middle Earth films to date, then there's no reason to think we'll see one in DoS. That said, I worry about the animals in Beorn's house (if they're included that is)
