Mmm. I always thought he farted. Appears there's some debate over it!

Refresh my memory?
Pippin breaks wind having revealed how much lembas he's eaten. It's only in the EE (I believe).
-
To be fair, there hasn't been a fart joke in The Hobbit films to date. FOTR holds that dubious honour...
-
We don't know what kind of music lessons Jackson's been taking in the past 10 years. Now might be his time to shine.
-
Jackson's probably scoring the extended edition already, to lighten his workload for the spring.
-
Conrad Pope is back in Wellington for more Hobbit recording with the NZSO:
Preparing to return to Wellington, its Town Hall and the NZSO-- hopefully, home in time to share Halloween with the family and neighbors!
That was fast.
-
Maybe Jackson might like it in a more playful setting, but doesn't feel it works for more emotional, weighty scenes? That's not what I feel you understand; I'm just trying to give myself some hope we may hear it in the EE (though that would leave virtually no hope for it appearing in the next two films, which isn't good at all).

You mean faint. a feint is like a fake-out.
You're quick. I edited that within about 10 seconds.

I'm hoping we get a rendition of Bilbo's main theme for the marketplace scene, especially given it's appearance in the first trailer.
It will be tracked with Concerning Hobbits, end of story. The statements of Bilbo's themes were cut for a reason. No idea why, but whatever it is, it will affect the whole film.
Not sure what to think about the "funny" Rivendell scenes.
Quoted in the faint hope that you might be wrong...
-
At least some of the Girion scene may be in after all. The confusion makes sense, since some people initially thought it was a dwarf firing that ballista in the trailer:
There was a split-second shot of someone firing arrows at the dragon, but I can’t remember if it was someone from Dale or if it was a dwarf. I just remember seeing an arrow bounce off of the dragon. Nothing significant though, so I assume it’s been moved to the second film.

Indeed. You can really see some of that music playing over the Thorin reveal.
Looks like the Girion bit has been moved to DoS, unless the guy has forgotten it (which is possible - after all, he leaves out Bilbo talking to Elrond weirdly enough, so there's hope for the Narsil scene).
The Rivendell scenes present some interesting upbeat Dwarven music possibilities.
Also, we know now that Bilbo flashback goes within the timeline of 'Old Friends'. I guess this means that bit of playful music and the fireworks bit heard in the normal version of the soundtrack might be from this scene? Who knows.
EDIT: Narsil scene is in!
Ah!!! Yes it was! Thank you for reminding me of that! It’s a very short scene with Bilbo exploring Rivendell. He sees the sword, and the painting on the wall next to it is Sauron with the ring on his hand as he fights Isildur. There’s a dramatic pause as they focus on the ring… Dun dun dun! -
Let's just assume that Shore nipped out for a coffee break every time one of these photos was taken.
That's a lot of coffee!
Well maybe a mixture of coffee and toilet breaks. Let's put it down to growing incontinency.

Very true. If that is the reason, I don't see why Doug can't just come out and tell us. Surely NDA's wouldn't prohibit that?
-
Is Shore using orchestrators and conductors for Wolf of Wall Street?
-
Tantalizing tweet from Doug:
Doug Adams @DougAdamsMusic 10h
Working late. Finish line in sight. Exhausting, but such an astonishing pleasure all the same. Just you wait ... #Hobbit
-
I was thinking about Doug's comments about the NDAs and the EE. If there isn't alterations to the music, or some interesting revelations in that 'Songs of Middle Earth' feature, we'll be left wondering what they were all about.
-
Indeed. It's hugely unlikely he would mention new music, He only refers to one of the new scenes.
-
Maybe Pope was with Plan 9 all along?
-
To the person on here (I'm sorry, I can't remember who it was) who said Doug was travelling to New Zealand with Howard Shore - what was your source for that?
Just read Doug Adam's twitter feed
I'm doing that now, but I can't find any specific mention of Shore accompanying him?
-
How did it come to this?
-
Most curious ... So, the sessions are over? What about revisions? No Middle-Earth score was finished mid-October.
The chances that PJ is done cutting the film are next to impossible.
And I suppose the big question is, if new music is required, then who does it?
-
I guess if Doug doesn't disclose anything the press release for the album should be revealing.

Maybe Hobbit farts sound different? It's Pippin's posturing for me. Never struck me as a burp, but I could easily be wrong.
