Barnald got a reaction from Bilbo in Worst Scene in The Hobbit?
I'd have been quite happy for them to spend another 10-15 minutes in Hobbiton.

Barnald got a reaction from mstrox in Will we ever get Hobbit Complete Recordings?
Evidently Conrad Pope has managed to clone himself, 19 times no less!

Lol
If bolleman's "critique" of Tolkien is a reflection of the future generations' state of literacy, I weep for the world.

Barnald reacted to BloodBoal in Your favourite EPIC cues
If we're going with El Cid...
And another score you HAVE to mention when talking about epic material:

I don't get the problem people have with an emphasis on Thorin. Thorin is no less of an interesting character, is no less actor, and you can't gloss over a battle like a book does. Bilbo and Thorin are about equal in emphasis, the third being Gandalf. No substantial amount of time in the movies ever passes without Bilbo, pretty much only for the Gandalf Side Quest.
Thorin is the reason for the journey, it's not a mystery why he is treated as the second Most important character overall. And in BOFA, Bilbo doesn't have much of a story anyway.

I'd be too delighted to do those things. Besides, I always possess a feeling of superiority around these parts.

Best thing you've said since your unsanctioned return, and possibly ever
Worst thing you've said in your entire life (probably)

Barnald reacted to Jay in The Adventure Begins film mix vs OST
I love them, just not as much as I love LOTR. Though certain themes and sections I love more than anything in LOTR. And they are still the best film scores of the 2010s

Barnald got a reaction from Gollum Cat in The Music Of The Lord Of The Rings Films - Doug Adams' Book & Rarities Archive
That's all fine and good and all, but it doesn't quite compete with a bookmark I'm afraid.
As a fellow first-print buyer, I must say I'm beyond outraged that I have been deprived of this wonderful keepsake. Doug should personally mail bookmarks to all those who bought the first run of his book by way of apology. If he wants to include a few CDs containing all unreleased LOTR and Hobbit material along with said bookmark he will be completely forgiven.

Barnald got a reaction from SafeUnderHill in The Themes of Howard Shore's The Hobbit
I think that's why SUH underlined and/or emboldened certain passages...

Yea I read about that and thought it sounded interesting.
I'll alway cherish my copy of the book not only because its from the first print run, but because I bought it in New York City at a release event for the book, got it signed by both Doug Adams and Howard Shore, and had dinner with them as well as John Takis and Jim Ware that day.

Doug can save the amendments for the omnibus edition, 'The Complete Music of the LOTR and Hobbit Films', with yet more rarities unearthed from the archives. First 100 copies come with a Conrad Pope nasal hair.

It's Gondorian.

The OST version. Packs more of a wallop. That flowing cello line at 0:21, the first choral crescendo following it, those bits and pieces of themes and motifs, only hinted and hinting at what lies behind them. The stacked Shore chords before "The Power of Mordor" kicks in at 1:28, building, ever building, adding the Mordor Outline until it all culminates in an choral apex of scoregasmic proportions.
Yeah, for me, it really doesn't get any better than this.
